Where's Chuck Norris?...
We need a skilled speaker and PR man. Our position is not being articulated well to the general public. Mr. LaPierre is not a comfortable in the public eye or presenting a case for the importance of supporting the 2nd Amendment. Please don't misconstrew my intention, I believe Mr. LaPierre is doing a fine job as NRA, V.P. The situation we as gun owners are presently confronted with would best be served by an individual with a specific skill set. Chuck with his lovely wife by his side would be perfect. He is widely known by all Americans, is well respected and is at ease in front of a camera. If Chuck speaks people will listen. Chuck where are you, America needs a hero now! Sonora

As much as I like Chuck Norris he never did strike me as a gifted public speaker. I know he is sincere in what he believes and says, but he always seemed to be a bit stilted in his deliverance when he gave his point of view when I've seen him on political talk shows. A positive point of view is never a bad thing though. Of course these days if you're not a smooth, slick sell you yesterdays newspaper type of speaker you get called a rube or stupid by the news media.

I agree that we need some well respected celebrities and non-NRA suits to speak up for our side. Chuck could help but I don't think he can do it alone. I think what we really need is a well respected, non-threatening FEMALE that understands the issues and can articulate our argument. I'm not trying to be sexist here, but I get the feeling that a lot of the "swing" toward more control is fueled by mothers, sisters etc that are naturally feeling emotional and protective by nature after the recent tragedy. As much as I agree with what Wayne says and personally don't have a problem with how he said it, old conservative-looking guys in suits are probably not going to convince those that might be leaning the other way.
And no, I'm not suggesting Sarah Palin...any other thoughts?

How about Ted Nugent?
I saw him on a talk show with some antis and Chuck - Ted was actually quite impressive.
Mr. Heston was just OK compared to Nugent - Go figure....

Might just be time for the NRA and others to hire the big buck PR firms and the advertizing they can do with paid actors with a positive message.
Not down playing Chuck Norris and others but we're in the fight for our life and we need professional players to deliver our message. Maybe some clips with American gun owners being ordinary folks would be right about now too.

Out of respect, the supporters of the 2nd amendment have been quite.
We must wait until emotions simmer down, then double our efforts to defeat the enemies of our Bill of Rights, Constitution and inalienable right to defend ourselves. This threatens the fundamental freedoms we have fought to protect since 1776.

Chicago has one of the toughest anti gun laws in the country and 500 were killed there this year. It's safer in Afghanistan.
Guess strict gun laws don't work.
We can't wait out of respect, there is never ever going to be a good time for us. Two weeks ago it was Newton, this week it's Webster, next week it's going to be another nut in another city.
We need tougher mental patient legislation.

I agree with all of the above. Great ideas! O.K. so the entire family are NRA members, I've encouraged all my friends to join the NRA
and I'm ready to donate more $. I hope the NRA leadership is ready to implement our $ and get on the above ideas now! I don't in any way want to come off as disrespectful, I'm just all riled up over what is happening in our country. God bless this great country and less all of you. Sonora

Personally, I would like to see more of Susan Howard and Tom Selleck talking up the cause. Howard has been a Director of the NRA and was well known on TV as Donna Krebbs, the wife of Steve Kanaly's character on Dallas. She's also a member of the Writer's Guild of America. Selleck is, well lots of women still remember Magnum, P.I. so maybe between the two of them they sway a few people over.

Chuck is getting a bit long in the tooth for that. He's got to be in his 70s by now. Maybe he's in a nursing home?

Governments, in general, dont want the governed to be as well armed as their own agents. It is a matter of time before all the cards will be on the table, so to speak. I hope many responsible gun owners are giving serious thought to what they are going to do when the authorities having juridstiction come for their collections. That is their (the governments) ultimate goal and there will inevitably be a percentage of the governed that will support this decision. I dont think it will matter who "we" have as a spokesperson- you cant articulate why you like/deserve/want/etc. to keep and use firearms to a group of people who dont have any respect whatsoever for your right to do so and are fundamentally opposed to it. Our rights can be altered and property confiscated by the mere stroke of a pen-even in this great country. Be prepared and remember that all warfare is based on deception! Want a spokesperson? Look in the mirror. And show your teeth.

I think MrColionNoir is the perfect spokeperson.
We don't need OWFG's.
A young black guy talking common sense!
I would post a link but you know why I don't.
Go to youtube and put "MrColionNoir" in the search box.
You will see what I am talking about.
This is what the NRA needs? Also a women to speak up?

Remember Clint at the RNC? Famous and popular people do not always make the best spokespersons.
