Default Local gun show

Saw Colt AR carbines at 2500.00+, and .223 ammo at $1.00 per round regularly. Also saw factory Ruger Mini 14 20 rd. mags for $75. Magpul 30 rd AR mags for $60. What I mainly saw, however, was most of this **** still sitting on the table when I left. I'm completely out of .223, but I'll be damned if I'm going to jump into this buying frenzy. I'm not taking the gun control situation lightly, but this is fricken crazy. May take a sabbatical from gun shows for a while. Only thing that caught my interest was a nice four inch 27-2 with no box or papers, but three T's, for $790.00.

I'm with you in not getting caught up in the panic buying. I just wonder where all the money is coming from. Credit cards that will never be paid off is my guess.

Were the$ 2500.00 AR's selling, or was that the asking price that
no one was buying?

I would love to go to the gun show being held today and tomorrow, but after viewing the lines and hearing about the sheer stupidity of everything, will gladly spend tomorrow perusing the forums like I did today.

I don't own an AR-15 style weapon and have no plans to get one. While I have nothing against them, I don't have any long guns since I enjoy handgun shooting & carrying.

Somebody local sold a Sig AR for that money last week having got the last one at Walmart for $1100. My FFL was going to do the same but he balked when they refused his tax exempt status. He said it was a principle thing but I'll bet he is kicking himself. After all, it's not every day you get to turn over a gun for $1000 in the same week.

I went to a gun show in Fort worth today and all I can say is WOW. I went to check out the craziness. I did see a lot of people with cardboard signs around their necks selling AR type weapons. One guy had a Ruger Mini 14 and a Mini 30 and when asked the price he said "$1500 for each". It was total madness.

Most of that stuff was ASKING price, and not a hell of a lot of money changing hands. I sure would like to find a good (reasonable) .223 source, and about three 20 round Mini 14 mags.

Have you checked with Ruger for the Mini 14 mags?

I went to a show yesterday. No line to get in I was very surprised. I ran into a frind and he said the line the night before was long. Yes the black guns were 2000+. Stopped at a gun shop in town on way home. Thay had 223 shells did not check price. I reload my 223's just don"t know prices. Manager told me thay had 8 AR's come in friday and 8 came sat morn. Thay did not jack up price but did package them with a 5 or 6 dollar hundred sight. All sold by noon.

Yeah, show out of stock on the website. I just want about three; already have two. May order them through Ruger, anyway though, and just let them backorder. This bull can't last forever.

Same thing here today. We have a 700-table show every month except July, two in December. I go to every one, but buy only reloading components and books. On a normal show Sunday there are a couple dozen of us out front when they open the doors at 09:00.

Not today. There were at least 400 people lined up. Guy behind me asked if it was always like this. First-timer, as were many of those in attendance. Lots of .223 for $1 a round. Saw one M&P 5.56 rifle marked $3500. Guy was considering paying it!

Heard yesterday the lines wrapped around the building just to get in.

Walked the floor, saw my usual contacts, got a great deal on a second edition hardcover of Jack O'Connor's "The Art of Hunting North America." Glad to be home looking at this forum instead of that madhouse!

I was in a gun shop yesterday and they told me a guy walked in and bought several magazines for different pistols. They asked if he had those guns he was buying the magazines for, he replied, "Nope, I'm just buying them, I'll hang on to them for a little bit, then turn around and make a killing reselling them."
unbelievable.....

Seen similar picture at Northern VA show, lots of private offers with 2k+ for ARs & AKs didn't see anybody who did pay any attention to those Didn't look at ammo prices. There were tons of mags for AR (greenish follower) for about $30. I went for reloading supplies, stocked up on powder & primers (however primers were going fast)...

Default havent been to a gun show but .....

have checking local web firearms sale sites .

found a brand new , yes ! unfired w/ box & papers , windhams weaponary src model ar with extra mag & tru glow sight for $1100....needless to say i snatched it up !
have some extra mags ordered from a couple of sources . of course they are back ordered but i figure they will ship in a few weeks.

have ample supply of ammo , but if prices ease off i will get some more.
there were guns on this same site selling for much higher . like the pricing already mentioned here .
i also will not jump in on the over pricing . i believe i proved if you wait it out a little while and stay on top of checking available sources , you may turn a deal or two

OGCA show is next weekend, looking forward to seeing what it's going to be like. This is a collector show so maybe things will be a little different but I doubt it....

No money this time as I just bought a new safe, but I can't wait to see it all unfold... See you there George.

Last couple shows i went to there we're scads of AR's on the tables
but all we're 1700 or better. I did'nt see any selling while i was there
but i seen a few guys with AR's for sale walking around. I did'nt ask
what their prices we're because i did'nt have much to spend anyways
and i have an A-2 in the safe already. Did catch one guy walking around
with two Rock River complete lowers. He wanted 400 a piece for them.
If i would have had the money i would have bought them. So life goes....

Chuck
