Default Are gun owners being hunted now?

There is a story right now on the Fox News site about a Class2 manf. of suppressors and who also ran a popular you tube channel on shooting who has been found murdered in his place in Georgia. Report is that it is a homicide, and many guns were found nearby, so robbery is probably not a motive. This has my attention, big time. OD.

IMO you never want to be carried off by emotionalism, or spread sensationalism .

Just because someone who has a characteristic that you have in common (ownership of guns) doesn't mean that owners are at risk
in general.

There are many potential motives for crimes.

I agree, and my intent was not to spread rumor or sensationalize. We have a news media that excels at both already. Most likely, this poor fellow was killed for something totally un-related to firearms. But situational awareness will save alot of grief. In the present climate, with loons walking around who will murder children in school, fly a plane into a SSA building, shoot up museum dedicated to remembering the Holocaust, or try to murder a U.S. Congresswoman, and a media that demonizes gun owners as the evil incarnate, it can't hurt to watch your back. Kind of like how John Noveski suddenly veared off the road right into a rather large rock?

This should really be the in the lounge section as it has nothing to do with 2A...

I don't think gun owners are being hunted...yet. It does seem that the media is putting out salt blocks, though.

Default Who knows?

Howdy,
Look at all the death threats directed at NRA leadership and members after Wayne Lapierre's comments on Sandy Hook school shooting.
I kinda doubt it, but there are a lot of violent, hateful, loonies around.
There is a list of some of the comments in a story on Drudge today about Piers Morgan and his guest discussing killing Alex Jones. Creepy!
Nothing would surprise me anymore.
Thanks
Mike

IMO People are over reacting to tragic events that are less likely to happen than being struck by lightening.

IMO we must not let ourselves be manipulated this way.

Of course, you always stay in a relaxed state of CONDITION YELLOW - calm and aware of what's happening around you.

Wait! We own all the guns! Who are "they" going to get to hunt us?

I have had an uneasy feeling for some time now. I never speak in public about being a gun owner, or a contributor to the 2nd Am. Foundation. In the last couple of years I have nervously read stories of hunters here in the midwest found shot in the woods, or up in their tree stands. My feeling is that some scumbag has taken to heart the challenge that some of us have issued to come and take them from my cold dead hands. I am too old to run when the agents come to confiscate things from me, and I am one of those who has little enough to lose that I will spend my life to the maximum effect I can manage. However, I do not advertise in any way. Hopefully I am safe enough expressing my opinions here. I urge all of you to increase your level of alertness because there may be true believers from the dark side looking for opportunities to take us out. Consider 'constant carry' - even at home. Trust your instincts. That guy that worries you, worries you for a reason, even if you can't put a finger on it. Think about what is concealment and what is actual cover everywhere you go. Use your brain to keep yourself safe - it's the most powerful weapon you have. Godspeed.
