Profit on Mags
Just an observation, looking for opinions. Since all the crazy things going on and talk of the new AWB, many seem to be stocking up on hi-cap mags. The prices have gone through the roof on these things, many are stocking up. On the other hand many gun traders are making a pretty penny off of it. I was just curious as to others felt about this. I myself see both sides. My grandfather used to buy SKS carbines for 100 bucks in the early 90s only to sell them for 4 times that during the Y2K bug.

You know something, I have 2 30rd 223 PMags that I bought before the panic. I just received 1 order of 5 PMags from a shipper with 3 other orders on backorder. 14.00 are my max price paying.
Here in CT after seeing what NY is going through I'd rather be "supplied" than sorry.
I don't know how a ban on mags are going to affect current owners of mags (no one knows yet) but I can deciede when that time comes.

The buyer determines the selling price. The seller only sets the asking price. People that weren't prepared are now in panic mode and are paying the price, so to speak.

Not that long ago I was giving away mags.
I currently have 29, a mix of 20 and 30 round, some new, some Vietnam-era. Only 7 of them are Pmags.
I won't be going out and paying $100 for a single Pmag (but I won't be giving away any more for awile).

Good points, though on a lighter note my speed strips and speed loaders are still cheap. Just cannot find .38 ammo on the shelves right now.

Clinton's irrational treachery seared into my brain that one must not wait... if they are available, get 'em while the getting's good....cause one day they won't be again...idiot mass shooters and any form of wannabe mass murderers is part of human nature (sadly)...and I knew the day would come that legislation would be proposed once again to do away w/ hi-cap mags and any rifle that can be used in self defense situations....
I started getting quality mags & ammo ten years ago!! Not a ton, just what ever I could afford on the side...
if you're looking now, you're not gonna be satisfied w/ what little you can get at the high prices everyone is askin'....

To the OPs title line: There aren't any profits without willing buyers. This talk of gouging is plain nonsense. Jacking the prices up on essentials such as those required to live is gouging, jacking prices up on items we don't need, well, thats on the buyer.
