Default Pretty Pink Pistol

First of all - DON'T LAUGH!
I purchased a new handgun this morning for the wife to use.
Taurus International Manufacturing Inc

Shoots great. Dead nuts out of the box.

Second - I realize this is not a S&W. I'm posting a Taurus on a S&W site which brings me to my point: I believe there is a HUGE market out there for handguns with some style, not just black or stainless. My wife actually found this gun by searching for "GUNS FOR WOMEN" on Google. I haven't been able to find anything on S&W for a factory handgun with this type of style.

Bottom line - the wife now enjoys shooting with me and is even considering getting here conceal carry permit when the next local class comes up. It was a good day thanks to a pretty pink pistol.

This story would be more believable if there were pictures of you actually holding it.

If that makes her happy...and get her into trigger time with you and the willingness and want to get her CPL or CCW...

Then WELL DONE... and congrats...

I had the same one and exchanged it for a "bigger" gun. The gun is great for concealment but shooting it is horrible. The recoil is worst than my Springfield XD subcompact.

And trust me I love pink guns Since my S&W MP 15-22 is pink

Yes Yes! Pic proof is needed!

But seriously, like others have said here, if that makes gun
ownership more palatable to her, great!

What's not to like? Shoots great, wife enjoys it and plans to use it for concealed carry.
Works for me.

It's a little stiff (watch the snickering...) but she can handle it. Other reviews said it will get easier over time.

I bought my wife one of those, with the stainless slide, for Christmas a couple years ago. She was thrilled! So this past Christmas, I gave her a 3" Model 36 with pink Hogue grips. Scored again!
I also know a policewoman with pink cuffs. Girls and their toys...

I bought Mrs Engineer pink gun cases from Midway. She has her cases, easy to find, and I can still shoot her guns after she opens the case -- a giggle proof solution. Also found two of her "missing" guns in the back of the vault.

Glad your wife likes that and has gained an interest in shooting and carrying. You may have created a monster though, better watch your collection . . .

I know you said 'factory' and I think this is exclusive to Hyatt, since I didn't find any reference to it on the S&W site, but it was the first result when I googled "pink smith and wesson" . . .

Pink Bodyguard .380

Default Listen up Smith and Wesson.

The first thing that comes to mind is one in a deep, burgundy red. I think it would look pretty classy for a guy. I don't think S&W should take anything away from their main line, but this is going to be the next big thing. I was in a LGS and the man was trying to talk his wife/GF into a 'black' AR-15 type gun and she said, "No, it looks dangerous". Actually I agreed with her. I see no reason for a sporting/target rifle to have to look look like Black Death Incarnate, though if you like Black Death Incarnate, you should be able to choose that, too. Choice is the catch word here.

Hey you Smith and Wesson guys read this. I'm going to post this on the wish list.

Nice pistol and my wife would like it. I mean I bought her this M&P15-22:

and then Colt comes out with one of these:

I have a feeling I'm going to be spending a LOT for an AR for the wife!

When things hit the fan will the color of the gun make a difference?

No..but if it keeps my wife happy, interested, and out practicing to be prepared for if it does or if she needs to protect herself and my 2 children then I'll make the gun any color she wants.

Pink Bodyguard .380

You have got to be kidding me! I bought my wife a Bodyguard for Valintines day, I just got back from the range with it, I put a 150 rounds of variouse ammo through it. I have to break in her guns, she gets discouraged if a pistol has a malfunction at anytime. I got a good one, not a single glich during the outing, and I think she will like it over her LCP, but maybe not as much as her Thunder .380. We both have Bersa .380's, and love them. They shoot dead acuate and have very little recoil. She would not like the pink one either, I was shopping with her and showed her the pink Taurus, she was not impressed at all, but liked the nickle Bersa, so I bought it for her. She also likes to shoot the M&P 40c as well. But hates the 1911, go figure.
