Default I cried

The funeral today for Deputy Riggenbach was beautiful. They flew in the flag that had flown over the world trade center. It came in this morning and two ladder trucks hoisted it high over the church.
The honor guard was magnificent. I really had to fight back the tears. the turnout and support was beyond what I expected. the law enforcement/first responder community really made me proud. Nobody was on this side or the other-we all hugged and cried-business forgotten for a brief time. I had never been to a funeral like this-had never experienced a loss like this and I was surprised just how touching and painful it was.

Say a prayer for Deputy Rick Riggenbach, his family and his tiny police force-down now to 6.

Be careful out there.

Funeral services for fellow officers are always a stab in the heart.

It is sad that only tragic events bring us back to where we need to be. I'll bet he would have liked to have seen this love and gratitude while he was still alive.

Caj,

Another thanks for being there. Additional prayers for Rick, his family, friends, and for those who must carry on in his place. May God send angels to guide his soul to that place in Heaven reserved for those who served with valor.
