Default Does gun from famous collection add value?

I am looking at a gun from the Robert Petersen collection.
He amassed a huge number of guns before his passing.

Does one of the guns from this collection bring any added value?
The gun I'm looking at is NIB.

If its NIB, is not a rare collector piece, and can be found elsewhere then the fact that Peterson owned it would add no special value for me. If it belonged to John Wayne or maybe Chuck Norris or Anna Torv, then thats different.

More to you than to a potential buyer, IMHO. My father's guns are priceless to me, but to no one else.

If it was a piece that belonged a very famous person like Patton, MacArthur, Billy The Kid, etc............ DEFINITELY.

I would have to say "no". That said, I would keep the receipt. To the next owner it just might, but IMO, I wouldn't pay any premium for a NIB gun from Peterson.

The largest collection of his guns are in the NRA museum .. in a Permanent " Wing " named after him.. all exquisite pieces.. one of a kind..

I would guess that depending on the gun.. and the amount of provenance it has.. I'm sure that at one of the Auction Houses it would bring more than the " Normal " street value..

As Mr. Jinks would say " I hope this helps"
