Default Not all LGS are price gouging

I had been looking for a 22 rifle for a GMH truck gun and had decided on the Ruger 1022 take down. Couldn't find one locally and looking on the internet auctions they were closing at over $400. Last week I walked into the LGS and walking out noticed a Ruger 1022 TD on the rack.

After handling it I decided I did like the rifle and after thinking about the price of just over $300 I decided to make the purchase. After the background check went through I mention to the guy that the Ruger TDs were bringing about $100 more on the internet. He said he knew that. However this phase would eventually pass and long term he needed customers walking through the door more than he needed the extra $100. This might partially explain why they have been in business since 1964 and the second generation is now running it.

Actually the 10/22 Takedown Tactical is going on the internet for $700 - $800 and they all have multiple bidders. I found one of the Takedown Tacticals at a LGS but had to pay $400 for it. I consider myself lucky to have found it.
