Default 35 years

Today makes 35 years on our marriage, looking forward to 35 more. An observation I have is that these days people want big weddings instead of marriages.

That's the blue steel anniversary, isn't it? What did your wife give you?

Congrats on the 35. We hit that just a few years ago. Looking at 40 next February. No, not the 14th.

Right on with the big wedding thought!

When my wife got married 30 years ago, we made our own food and I even made the wedding cake! We rented the VFW hall and hired a DJ to provide the music. Everyone ate, drank and was merry. Nowadays I go to weddings where the meal costs $30 a plate and nobody is any happier than we were back then.

In fact some of those $30 plates are disappointing.... Cold green beans and rubber chicken...

Congratulations on the 35 years. My wife and I got married in the living room of the Pastors West Virginia trailer while he sat back in his recliner wearing holey socks and we sat on his sofa.
