My youngest daughter has had a Henry Mini-bolt .22 for two years now and really enjoys shooting it. She's always had an interest in my flat latch Model 36--it's one of the few handguns that I own that she can operate on her own without any help for me. She hadn't felt ready for shooting handguns until recently, so on our first range outing of the year (it's been a long cold winter here) she wanted to give it a try. She was surprised at the recoil compared with a .22 rifle but I think she did fairly well--have a look below; even at full recoil she's not flinching.
Her first two shots went high but once she figure out where the sights were going the third round went right to her point of aim. (This was at 5m, or about 16.5 feet)
.
After a cylinderful she was ready to get back to her Henry. Next up, she wants to try my GP100!
