Default Help with night vision

I am having problems with varmints who are active at night and am interested in Night Vision scopes. Are any of you using or familiar with currently available scopes which are dependable and satisfactory for varmints hunting or perhaps other forms of illumination for this purpose?

Here's the short version...buy American made only, period end of story. Buy 3rd generation but don't worry about a class B tube, the little black dots wont be noticed at all. Buy an infrared illuminator so you can see their eyes glow. Don't mount the scope high on the gun...keep it as close to the bore as possible.

We use FLIR. It is effective, reliable and I have seen a unit they make which mounts ahead of any scope and provides night vision. Needs a 1913 type rail.

Something that some may not know...

In very dim light, if you look just off-center of the object you're trying to see, you'll be able to see it better.
The receptors(rods) for low light are off-center in the eye.

Marijuana will improve your night vision and is one of the best for glaucoma... but it's illegal.

Scotch must work for me...cuz if I go out into a dark bar and drink a lot of Scotch, every female in the building looks better.
