Default Saddest photo I have seen ...

This photo speaks for itself.

Save some prayers for the child and his family, and hope that the forces of evil can be held at bay in the future.

You know, seeing this photo makes me angry. It is hard to direct my anger to appropriate channels.

All I can say is evil exists in our world. We just have to fight it.

I could not agree more. I cried when I saw the picture of him at a Bruins game. Those pieces of garbage should rot in hell. I don't know why white hat was taken alive. Now we have to pay for his hospital and then prision. The voters of Massachusetts voted to reinstate the Death Penalty, but our legislators decided our voices didn't matter. They should all be made to look at 8 year old Martin's picture every day!

Your thread title says it all. Super conflicted emotionally after seeing that. Anger, grief, confusion as to why some complete idiots would do what they did. I just don't get it.

I believe his sister lost her leg and his mom has a fragment in her skull. Entire family devastated.

It's important that they took him alive for the purpose of extracting information. That can save lifes.
One can only imagine the number of other "sleeper cells" hiding out in America.

It's times like these that challenge us to remain true to our principles and set ourselves apart from other systems of government.

The American experiment is just that, an experiment.

And the jury is still out regarding whether or not we can maintain order and apply justice while protecting individual rights.

tough gig it is

I'm thinking the older brother was the "brains" of the plotters. He probably use the "idolizing" younger brother to carry out his sick plan. Both the mopes were lonely and young men have been known to act out in response. Sad beyond words. Joe

I think we need to bring back public hangings.

It's hard to appear as a hero for some cause when you're hangin' with a broken neck and piss runnin' down your laig.

He'll most likely be tried under Federal law...where there is a death penalty. Either way he is a dead man walking. If he makes a deal and gets life without parole, how long do you think he'll last in general population? Remember what happened with Dahmer?

If they have not taken them down on the web site Live Leak there are images of the victims that are extremely graphic. If anyone who feels any compassion for the perpetrator takes one glance at these, it will quickly dispel that.

They are several pages into the site or you can search for the bombing images.

Careful on opening them, they are very GRAPHIC !

Any of those who are making excuses for the younger brother (and there seem to be many) should see this picture. On the same line, there was an excellent article in the Boston Globe today.

I agree Iggy, I have said for some time that if we went back to public hangings and let the crows pick their eyes out after a couple days there would be a lot less violent crimes..

Very primal... and very true. Too bad we as a society have forgotten that there are two messages- one to the intended person and one to the audience. Private executions at midnight do not communicate that crime doesn't pay.

Believe me, I am no bleeding heart, but they used to hang pickpockets in jolly ole England and working through the crowd watching the execution would be ... more pickpockets.

Regarding the 19 year old, if he lives he doesn't have many more happy days to look forward to.

A copy of that picture should be mailed to each and every state legislator that voted to not honor the wishes of the people regarding capital punishment.

What do you mean?

He is a potential candidate for a Full Professorship of Education at some "progressive" institution 20-30 years from now.

The only difference I see between him and Bill Ayers is that he was a slightly more competent bomber than Ayers.

Thumbs down

Sorry but when that photo is enlarged, photoshop is obvious. His head is bigger than others around him and the jacket he has on is brown and not the correct color - someone put his head on another person's body (see cropped FBI photo below). The suspect is also out of position from where he would have been at this time - way down the street to the left of the picture as he was pictured in an FBI photo that a man took with his cell phone. As with most everything on the internet, this picture is fake and meant to play on people's emotions.

I say don't send this terrorist to gitmo as rumored. Put him in jail here and let the inmates take care of him he will wish he was never born.

If the Leo's used magnum revolvers the shot in the jaw would of removed his head. I wish dirty Harry was there. I love my 41mag.

In my opinion once you have committed such an act you have elected to forfeit your rights. Yes we still need to be careful of false accusations and wrongfully accused etc. but if you choose not to live by the laws of a civilized society then you should not be entitled to the protections those laws provide.

I don't blame you sir and I'm glad you posted it. To me, its a real shame that people have nothing better to do with their time than sit at a computer and find ways to make horrible acts even worse.

I remember when we had some child killer come in to our jail and I got to sit on him for a while and book him in. He killed his girlfriends 3 year old son simply because she slept around on him. Smothered the kid with a pillow. I told the sergeant it was going to be tough but it needed to get done. I saw the photo of the 3 year old and its probably a good thing I didn't have my son then or I might have throttled him there and then. It's hard to realize the human side to these things sometime, we just hear the numbers of dead and wounded and until you see the photos the humanity doesn't sometimes come into play. I was reading a statement about the father of the 8 year old made about his son how right before the bomb went off his son ran up to him and gave him a hug for finishing the race. The mother has a traumatic brain injury and the 6 year old sister lost a leg. I don't know, nor would I ever want to know what the father is going through. In a way my job has kept me from some of the families of the victims, I have seen several child killers in my time, all young under the age of five, a couple were less than a year old. I know there was no remorse in any of them (until they got to court). The point is people need to realize that there is evil amongst us, it walks with us everyday and we need to be ever vigilant. These two pieces of human filth somehow went wrong, their wiring got crossed, they were promised virgins for murder whatever, and we better be on or toes or this won't be the last little boy we see that won't grow up. We have to fight two fronts, those that want to commit evil on us, and those who would keep us from protecting ourselves from evil everyday. Evil can be foreign or domestic and it will never be snuffed out entirely, but we can make sure those who want to commit evil on us know what will happen when they try.

Our gun restrictions stink in Massachusetts. But after seeing first hand how our law enforcement people got the job done, I have never been prouder to be a resident of the greater Boston area. Being a father of two deceased children ,my heart weighs heavy for the victims and their families. We all need to be Boston Strong in this country of ours.

Don't think 'the brothers' cared if he lived.. On the police transmission you'll hear the call sign "Yankee" call for a cease-fire. That's the Boston Police Superintendent in Chief. The order came from up high.

First don't let fear change our lives. Many who came before us gave there lives too. But in a different way but still living as Americans with freedom. I don't understand why so many hate us. I believe in a creator as most of us do but that's my choice living in a free nation.

I can't believe there parents think we have framed them. While some in Europe think it's out fault. I do find that some Europeans can be arrogant and Ignorant at times. They have the shame on there family now. If it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck it's a duck.

I love this country and its freedom.
