Default Another ".22LR Score at Wal-Mart" thread...

This afternoon I stopped by one of the WM stores nearby.
I walked over to the ammo shelf like I do every trip to WM and I saw they had a bunch of 9MM, 40S&W and .22LR.
I looked the situation over and quickly decided that I should get some .22LR instead of 9MM - I haven't seen .22LR anywhere in a couple months now, but 9MM has been around a bit here and there.
I picked up my three boxes and sent Mrs. Hillbilly over for her three (and they still had more).
They were Remington 225-round boxes for $9.97 - you know, regular price.

I stopped by my local walmart yesterday and their shelves were empty....I mean EMPTY! I asked the girl behind the counter about future shipments and she told me I should come every day and check as their shipments were hit or miss. I thought the panic would have eased up a little by now but it seems to be as strong as ever.

I have been to every Walmart within 100 miles from here. The shelves were all but empty. A few boxes of shotgun shells were about it.

There was lots of room for improvement --- reliable ignition, less fouling, accuracy, etc.

The biggest improvement was that it was actually available.

Gonna have to disagree with the accuracy part. Tried a few different brands out of my 10/22 and the GB was as accurate as any and more accurate than some.

I don't share the hate for the GB.

Lucky, I haven't seen .22 in a long while. Last I saw some was December $30 for some CCI 500 brick, I passed not sure why though. I think it may have been because I just bought a bunch of 40 and the wife may have killed me. But she has come around to my side now. She gets more ammo than me. My Father in Law felt bad for me and gave me an old box of Winchesters 500rds. Was cleaning out my closet and found an old dip can full of loose 22LR. That is how I use to carry them when I dipped. I quit now sadly I quit both dipping and shooting 22 until I can get a good bit stocked up for a good day of shooting with family and friends.

Every time I go to Walmart the ammo shelves are as empty as a Piggly Wiggly after the start of the zombie apocalypse.
