WallyWorld...I Call BP
Bull Poop......Stopped by WW tonite to get some dog treats and saw lots of guys moving pallets of stuff all over the store. So hey why not look at the ammo case. Shotgun shells, 1 lonely box of .32. So I asked a guy was there any ammo on the truck tonite and he spoke to a guy pulling a pallet and the reply was yeah 3 boxes of stuff.
So the fellow says he'll check in back, I stood near the door to the stockroom, saw him talking to several 'unloader type guys'. Comes back out and says 'no ammo'...but the other guy said 'he unloaded the pallet and it was there. Just got a blank stare...I call... Bull Poop!
These guys are squirreling it or putting stuff aside for somebody. WallyWorld needs to put an ink stamp on the front of each box so when it goes on the web for sale, people will finally figure out why everybody gets hosed at WallyWorld. If I had not just had 4 glasses of ice tea with dinner, I would have gone after the manager for a talk.....bladder won that contest..
Rant off.........thanks for reading!

I found out recently that the owner of one of the local gun shops is traveling down to Walmart to snag .22 ammo and is doubling the price in his shop. I find it hard to believe he is driving 20 miles each way just to get three boxes of .22 to turn around and resell since that is supposedly the limit. I know if you are not at Walmart by 7am, the ammo is gone.

I believe you both may be right. I have noticed the way the guys talk to you here at wally world and things just don't seem right at times. I get too many different stories.

They've been doing stuff like that for years. Collectable toys? They grab em or hide them then call someone to come and buy them. Then they list them on line for sale.

I bought some nines at the local Wally World this afternoon. They had a three box per limit per customer and I scored two 100 count Federal 115 grain for $21.99 and one box 50 count of Tula brass case for $12.99. I got the last of the Federal but they still had about three cases of the Tula. The Academy Sports down the road had a bunch of steel cased nines for $10.99. They were one box per customer and I thought briefly about buying one to shoot in my Beretta but decided not to. They had four cases of Remington .22 shorts three days ago. I got the one they let me have. They were out of them today.

I have 18 WM's within a 25 mile radius of my home.
I scored 450 rounds of 9mm this evening at my local WM.
Thinking of getting up tomorrow and hitting the WM a few miles down the road for 300 more.
Some of the local stores are very reliable with their ammo, others are definitely playing games.

Nobody every accused walmart of hiring the best and brightest....
... or honest, hardworking individuals.
Lets see... Do my job, stock the product, and help the customer or use my "power" to keep the ammo for myself and sell it to friends or to others at a markup?

That's the problem. All it takes is one jerk in the store who is playing the ammo game and you won't find anything in that store.
I don't even NEED ammo really and this ticks me off!

This ^^^^
All it takes is one guy who wants to make some extra money
thru the backdoor way. And that particular WallyWorld will
seldom be of any use to anyone wanting some factory ammo.
I reload centerfires but like to feed my habit of .22LR at
WallyWorld from time to time.

It's going on here.
I know ammo is coming in. Yet nothing with any degree of demand ever goes on the shelf.
Ask one of them about it they act ignorant (not much of a stretch) and if you push they get downright nasty.
The current group of employees needs to go. And I hate to say this because I was friendly with them prior to this scam.
Apparently doing the job they were hired to do is of secondary importance to making sure only the "right people" have access to the products they are supposed to put out for customers.

Frankly I'm amazed that Walmart can actually manage to hire somebody with the brains capable of pulling a stunt like that off. I've never known anybody nor let alone know anybody that knows anybody that works at Walmart. I think they get their help straight from Goodwill, which by the way also has a racket when it comes to antiques and other valuable items that people "donate".
If some enterprising soul that happens to work for Walmart manages to figure out how to skin the cat a little and not worry about loosing his "valuable" job, more power to him. When you consider the miserable wages and working conditions those people put up with its no wonder some of them figure out how to make a few bucks buying up the latest kid toy craze, ammo, whatever...from what I've heard some of the people that work for Walmart love it there. Most people with real jobs can make more money in overtime than some poor bugger makes running a little ammo scam and he probably has to invest part of his salary to cover the bill, maybe if he's really lucky he gets a discount on the ammo because he works there...he's really getting over, the bum.
Give me a break guys...Really....

I'm SOOOOOOO glad I've been buying ammo for years while other guys were doing other things. I sold 1050 rounds of .22 for $100 and the guy couldn't stop thanking me. That is all I'm letting loose of. Everything else went down in the terrible boating accident with MickeyD......

If your WM is getting ammo checked in that doesn't make it to the shelf, file a complaint with WM or the BBB. Maybe you will put an end to a scam that is costing WM a lot of money. Maybe you will put an end to a dirt bags employment. If you got the balls(FMJ, that is), you can make a difference and get some ammo.

I'm not surprised that goes on behind the doors. Same thing happens with the guitars. In the storeroom they cherry pick the ones with the mojos and push the "junkers" to the shoppers.
I solved my problem by going to the custom shops and have mine made.

If you are 'stockpiling' ammo rather than just replacing what you shoot, consider that sort of action is what is causing the 'shortage'.
I have a friend who manages a big box store. He says they are getting the same weekly shipment they have received for many months. Difference is now it is gone in 90 minutes, versus the stocked shelf situation prior to the panic.
No criticism of anyone intended, but food for thought.

I for one will never shop in a Walmart!
But to those who are feeling shortchanged or ripped off by shifty Walmart employees, why have you not written to Walmart about this problem?
IF you have written or contacted Walmart, what say the reply?
Get active and get an answer, or else it will go on and on.

I've never liked shopping at Wally World. I will pay extra and drive farther if I have to. I don't like the way they have run off virtually all the small businesses in small towns around the country. I know it is free enterprise and I guess I should respect that, but I don't have to support them!

I remember Gibson's Discount back in the 60's. NE Oklahoma competitor of some the first Walmart stores. Me thinks they lost out. What a shame!

We still have a Gibson's store in our town. FYI they are playing the game also. The other day they had some 9X18 Makarov for sale for $39 per box of 50. The salesman told me the 9X18 were very rare.

I think people just hate Walmart.
I don't see a big company like them taking the effort to sit on ammo. Maybe a store employee buying it up some how to resell. I lean more to you just talked to a couple of guys who didn't know.

We're packing up everything and have our house on the market, Gonna retire. I was rearranging stuff and cleaning out some US ammo cans to put ammo off my shelves in.
Hiding under my Grandfathers straight razors and strop I found a partial brick of old Remington 22 LR that I bought at a Ben Franklin in the 70's. Wally World bought them and was selling off stuff like a fire sale. There were some 5 packs of buck shot at $1.00 per box. I suspect the brick was $5.00 or less.
