Wandering in Wal-Mart.
After spending the morning in the office studying I took off a little after noon to go to the hospital to visit one of my church members. After finishing up with the visits I needed to make, I decided to drop by Wal-Mart to pick up some things. I walked through the Sporting Goods department not expecting to see any ammo... and was not surprised to see no ammo. However I got to talking with a clerk who told me that a truck would be arriving around 4 p.m. and that it might have some ammo on board. So... I went out to the car, got my Bible and spent the next hour studying and making notes. As I glanced up I saw the clerk walking toward me with a case of something on his shoulder. It turned out to be Federal Auto-Match .22 LR Ammo. The limit was three boxes, but he was kind enough to sell me four boxes. The price was $14.27/325 rds. I was shocked. I haven't blown that much money of ammo in a long time. But, since I haven't seen .22 LR ammo in several months, I didn't argue with the man. He kindly rang up the dog food, which means Molly will not go hungry; the batteries, which means the T.V. remote control will again work; and of course the ammo! Some may think it ridiculous that a grown man would get excited at finding .22 LR ammo. But the only thing I've found in the last couple of months was CCI .22 Shorts that ran $9/100 rds. So I figured this was a real good deal! I hope and pray that everyone will be able to find the ammo they need. Sincerely. brucev.

So Walmart let an employee walk out with ammo, unpaid for and to your car in the parking lot? And 4 instead of the limit of 3? Wow.

Huh?
Please enlighten us (if you can) why the employee is wandering about the parking lot with a case of ammo.
Interesting, to say the least.
Be safe.

I think he might have been studying at the sporting goods counter. Can't imagine he went to his car. Don't think WM has carhops. But maybe!

GLAD YOU GOT SOME
The WalMart employee was just doing insurance for later.
Might need a visit some day.
I saw some CCI Stingers today @ $78/500 I believe.
Was tempted, but I'll limp along with bulk Rem and Fed for a
little while longer.

Re: WM Employee. I was standing by the counter at Sporting Goods reading. I glanced up and saw the clerk at the far end of the store walking down the aisle carrying the case of ammo on his shoulder. The store policy was three box of ammo per customer. He was kind enough to allow me to buy four boxes.
I did ask him if it was O.K. as I certainly did not what to get him in trouble. In this area there are not a lot of jobs available. I think it would be tragic if something I did had a negative impact on him.

It's good to see other states finally starting to see somewhat normal things again. .22LR has been scarce around here, but lately it's kind of like those evil black rifles. It's all over the shelves and people arent that worried about gobbling it off the shelves that much. Of course it takes a few days, maybe a week and eventually it twindles down. But to see it staying on the shelves for a few days is enlightment enough.

It will probably take a while longer for things to get back to normal, but the last four trips I made to Wally World I came away with 40's, 45's or nines. The last two trips I got three 100 count Winny white box for $22.00. I don't go looking for it because I stocked up a long time ago, but if I see it and it's reasonable I'll buy it. The only .22's I've found in the last several months were shorts, which I bought, as I have several things that eat them. .22 LR I have plenty of, bought long ago, but if I see some more at a good price I'll buy them. I quit buying ammo at gun shows a long time ago because they got it at the same place I get it and jacked it up.

I think my pastor gets half his sermons from Wal-Mart. Just about every other week he starts off, "I was in Wal-Mart the other day...."
Even more so since he retired from his "day job."
I'll have to ask him to pick up some 22 ammo for me.

I am kicking my own butt. Saw some 40s&w 100 round packs at BPS, only 1/customer for $45.00. Didn't get it. I am cheap and need the money for gas moving to GA in a week.

I went by my local WW yesterday and as usual the shelves were as bare as Old Mother Hubbards Cuppboard. Nothing rare about that.
