I was looking for a nice, small and powerful flashlight. My requirements were that it run on CR123 batteries, have a low light setting, a tail cap switch, a pocket clip and have a powerful setting.

I narrowed my options down to the Streamlight ProTac 2L and ordered it from Amazon for $40 shipped.

After a couple days with it I am impressed. The settings are adjustable by tapping the light switch 10 times and I set mine up so one push on the switch is low light level, and two pushes is bright. The pushes must be close together to turn on the bright setting, so most of the time I just use low and then the next click is off. Just like any flashlight.

The light is waterproof, shock resistant, has a carrying holster and a lifetime warranty and it's small. It's about 4 3/4" long and only 3/4" in diameter. Small enough to hold in your mouth if your hands are both busy.

Run time on low is supposed to be about 50 hours. Low puts out 13 lumens which is great for reading a menu, working under the sink and walking to the breaker panel in a power outage.

On high the light should run about 3 hours. Light output is 260 lumens which is pretty dang bright! My son was shining deer with it on our way home last night, and I think I could get by using it as a headlight on my motorcycle if mine blew out on a trip. For such a tiny thing to put out that much light is a marvel.

Concerning the flashlights running on lithium 3 volt CR123, Tenergy now makes a rechargeable RCR123A battery that works great in these led lights. I've used them in my Surefire and Fenix lights at work for years.
A lower cost alternative to the relatively expensive CR123 lithium.
They are available online at various retailers. Shaologear has the batteries and compatible chargers....and shipping is free! You can check them out at .....

Thanks armorer951!

I am using Duracell Procell right now, but I like to use rechargeable lithiums in many other things. With a good charger they are often better than a regular battery.

I need to find out what the amp/hours are on my Duracells so I can find a comparable rechargeable on the website you provided.
