Gunsamerica
Looking for a S&W 686 plus 3 inch. Saw one on Gunsamerica.
Can anyone recommend this site or Jays Guns II in Fl. A little
uneasy putting this kind of $ down for something to be shipped
to a ffl dealer here in NJ. Not sure what I'm going to get.
Thanks much,
Rich

That's what I don't like about Gunsanerica either, you can't look up feed back like you can of Gunbroker or Auction Arms.

Never can be 100% sure what you will get buying on the internet.
That said,I have purchased 7 New S&W revolvers from internet dealers and have had zero problems.
I have purchased a gun in the past from Jays guns on Guns america but not Jays guns 2.

Jay's has four locations in N/W Florida, Crestview, Pensacola, Baker & Panama City. They are a reputable gun store and I have bought several from the Panama City location locally.
You can buy with confidence from them.

I have made about four purchases from Guns America over the years and picked up good deals every time, but many guns on that site are over priced in my opinion. Also each seller is different and you need to really look at their history. This site is not as user friendly as are a couple of the other national auction sites, so read the seller instructions very closely also.
While I have never had a problem with Guns America, I have passed many good buys and guns I really wanted because the seller was new with little or no track record, or the add just looked squirrelly to me. I buy there now and again, but I am much more cautious on that site compared to Gun Broker or Gun Auction.
Good Luck

I have bought several S&Ws from sellers on GA. Every deal went smooth & fast. Picked up a nice 5" 2nd Model 44 Hand Ejector that lettered w/ that barrel for a very good price. I do try to deal only with FFLs there, one less middleman. Good luck with your 686.

The last gun purchase I made (S&W Model 36) was through Guns America. This was my first purchase using GA, and everything went just fine. I'm very happy with the gun. The thing I like about GA is that it is not an auction. There is an asking price, and if you are willing to spend it, it's yours. I have bought several guns on Gunbroker, and each went well, but you don't know until about 15 minutes after the bidding closes whether you've got the gun or not. I also bought a brand new Benelli Super Sport through Guns Auction, and that went well also. Yes sometimes the prices are too high, but you don't have to buy them. If you are patient, and willing to do some shopping, you may find a good buy.

Well, maybe, maybe not. Some listings on GA are auctions, you don't know until you click on it. And the ones that are straight classifieds with a fixed price are NOT like the "Buy It Now" listings on Gunbroker, where when you click the BIN button it immediately closes the auction. On GA clicking the button just sends a message to the seller and he might accept it, or he might not. It kinda sucks. I've been frustrated by that several times.
