Angry Cancer sucks

I went to Shooter's today and picked up my Shield, while there I saw a friend of mine for the first time in a few weeks. I was told that he had been found to have pancreatic cancer. He was a larger guy about 60 or so, When I saw him today he was visibly thinner and very little hair. He has been through some kemo and has more to do he should know in about 6 weeks what the prognosis will be. I am hoping for the best.

Prayers sent. I have cancer and I know a bit of what he is going through. A close friend died of pancreatic cancer a few years ago. The bad thing is it is without symptoms until it is too late.

I lost my Dad to pancreatic cancer back in 1986. It has ravaged his
body. I think (and hope) there has been a big improvement in treatment
of this horrible cancer since then. I lost my older sister who was only
69 a year ago next month. She had lymth gland cancer. They have
made a lot of progress in treatments but we still need more till we
wipe out cancer completley. Sorry about your friend and hope he fair well
with this terrible disease. Goose

I lost my Grandfather to pancreatic cancer when I was young and he was only 54. Then my father from lung cancer when he made 56. As I await my 55th birthday next month, I'm sitting here waiting for the shoe to drop.
There are no good kinds of cancer but I know pancreatic is one of the more stubborn.

My thoughts go out to him and his family. It's a tough thing to watch.

I lost my father to Pancreatic Cancer just over 4 years ago. I understand the shocking change that it causes the body to go through and I truly wish your friend the best.

Default Cancer

My sisters husband passed with this type of cancer, it just wore him down. My best friend had cancer of the colon, he had surgery on Nov 14 of 06 and it spread to his lungs and brain and he died on Jan 11 of 07. He never had a chance, he been retired in early of 06 after flying for W Mart since 1969 with many thousands of hours in Aero Commanders and Cessna Citations I wondered if sitting on top of the cloud banks in the sun could have caused part of his problems. After seeing him go so quick I came to the conclusion if you cant cut it off I dont think you beat it. Will pray for you. Jeff

Default Helping

Offer to take him to treatment- or go when he does and sit with him. If he has pets check to see if he needs help babysitting them. Take him shooting-keeping in mind that he'll be limited on how long he can stand, be in hot weather or cold. It's the little support things that help-my wife is in her third year of treatment-after a while people lose interest. It's a battle-and we need all the reinforcements we can get.

Prayer from Texas for your friends healing. You are most accurate - it sucks. My mother in law died from liver cancer. Not a good real.

Yes, cancer sucks. Prayers out for your friend and his family. It's not a solo journey, it affects everyone around him. They all need our prayers and shared strength.

Stan:

Sorry to hear about your friend. I hope he does well. You are a good friend to support and think about him. I lost my younger brother and mom to pancreatic cancer. Neither of them were symptomatic until the last couple of weeks. Thank God neither of them suffered as the disease took them so quickly.

Best of luck,

Dave

Prayers sent for your friend. Your support is so important to him. I am battling kidney cancer and don't know where I'd be without friend and family support. They've come a long way with many types of cancer and treatments. Its been 6 years since they gave me 10 months to a year so there is ALWAYS hope. As Jimmy V said "don't ever give up!"

Prayers sent.

I'm living proof that prayers work. Cancer does suck big-time. My wife of 39 years had cancer twice and survived. She is my Angel now. I had prostate cancer. Me and the misses took turns. Get checked for cancer often. Early detection is the key to survival.

I did put my life in our creators hands and trusted in modern medicine for survival. Cancer can destroy my body but it can't get my soul. Quote Jim Valvano NC basketball coach he was one of the best, my he rest in piece.
May God bless him. God bless, bigbill

I feel we don't cheat death because it's always there we just prolong life.

Cancer runs in my family. My dad's mother died of cancer in the ovarian, his father died of brain tumor that turned in to brain cancer when he died at the age of 45. His brother died of stage 4 lung cancer a year ago. Now, my mother is winning her battle of Leukemia.
