Carrying many handguns to the range??
I pack all my handguns in there boxes to go to the range. My question is what case or wooden carrying case do you guys use to transport your handguns to the range? I'd like to do it a more professional way. What's the biggest carrying case as well as the smaller ones too. I'd like to see if I can buy one first before breaking out my old cabinet making tools.

If I were to pack all my handguns I'd have to rent an extra lane (or two!)
I usually take two but certainly no more than three at a time. A soft side bag (check out Bag Master) or a backpack takes care of the guns, ears eyes and ammo.

Kickin' A Packs and Stuff by Tommy's Gun Packs. The last range bag you'll ever buy, with a no questions asked lifetime guarantee. I take one of my Colt 1911's, one of my J frame snubbies, and my Walther PPS and PPK to the range atleast once a month....

I have a couple of these lightweight hardside cases, had 'em for 30 years or so. Don't remember who made them but there should be something similar on the market.

I have soft-sided pistol rugs from varies makers for all of my handguns. I carry them to the range along with my other range necessities, mags and ammo in a large range bag from Midway USA.
I think it's a great set up.

Cheapest solution I've found so far is from Harbor Freight. They sell an aluminum case with pull foam (the kind like in Pelican cases where you can create custom layouts by pulling the foam apart) for about $25, holds 6-12 guns depending on barrel length.
I cut out slots that run parallel to the handle of the case, all the way across, and sit the guns in the slots butt end up. Comes with a tool holder thing that goes in the top that I tossed, then you have a nice all foam padded case for very little money compared to a "gun case".
You can also use some of the other solid dividers that come with it to make areas for ammo or mags. Very versatile. It's Harbor Freight, don't expect Pelican quality here, but if it's just for going to and fro with guns it'll hold up fine.
Edit: sorry, linked to the one without the foam. This is the right one, $28 right now:

Simple soft cases in a bigger luggage type bag works fine for me.

I just carry mine in a plastic pistol case. It has room for 1-4 guns per layer, depending on size, and two layers.

I carry a soft sided duffel designed as a range bag & keep all my stuff in it so I can just grab & go. Normally I take one gun to the range b/c I like to concentrate on one thing at a time, and b/c I'm too lazy to clean more than one when I get home.

I have an old Pachmayer shooting box that always goes with me. It carries a bunch of pistols, ammo, some spare targets and a spotting scope. I'm thinking about adding wheels.

I put handguns in the range bag, rifles and shotguns in the hard case.
Ammo goes into a MTM can.

I can easily carry four in my range bag, each individually in a protective cotton sock....ammo has to be in a separate bag though.

This thing called a "Range Bag"
Watch the short video. It has so many compartments I forget what's in there!
I need it though as our range provides nothing, you bring what you need (targets, wood, life support system first aid, water) and leave with everything (trash etc)
If you are out there alone and get hurt you are doomed. The Gators, snakes and Vultures will clean you up quick.

Most of my guns sit in their original boxes inside one of the safes. The boxes don't take up much space, so I can carry as many as I care to inside any sturdy bag. More often, they get taken out of the boxes and each put into a used FedEx bubble-wrap bag, which I save primarily for exactly that purpose. Then they take up even less room. But I seldom take more than three or four guns to any one outing.

I use a Doskocil 4 gun case I've had for close to 30 years. Looks sort of like a black briefcase and has egg crate foam on both sides.

As long as you wear that rainbow beanie on the table when carrying it, then I guess it's okay.

I usually only bring one or two. Two if I bought it recently and need to function test. On the very rare chance that I bring a bunch of handguns I throw em all in a duffle bag and ammo with mags in a ammo can. Nothing fancy, just a regular old duffle bag. Been doing it for years. Nothing has broken, cracked or scratched ever.

Any number of ways , depending on how many guns I'm taking and where I'm going and what kinda shooting. I still have several Doskosil hard side , foam lined suitcase type cases from when I used to do gunshows. For bullseye night, I have a Hogue oak shooting case that holds 4-5 handguns and has a small scope mounted on the lid. Space for ammo & mags.
Often I'll just keep 'em in their butterfly cases and put 'em in a small duffel bag.
I also have an old Samsonite executive briefcase that I picked up at a yard sale or flea market. It neatly arranges all my targets , pasters , tape , staple guns , staples , glasses , ear muffs & plugs , pens/pencils/markers , notepad , etc.

All my guns are in Boyt pistol rugs. I pick out the ones I want to shoot that day & put them in my S&W Magnum Range bag. It holds everything I need. Eyes, ears, ammo, a few tools, an UpLula, chewing gum & my Bubba Hero bottle. Plenty of room & plenty of pockets, plus a cool S&W logo on the side!

RANGE BAG
A Cabela's camo duck hunting bag with the hard plastic bottom & lot's of pockets and a heavy duty shoulder strap makes a great range bag. I try to limit it to 3 pistols in soft cases

Our range has two benches. I pull the truck up to the first empty one and use the front seat for storage.

After trying flimsy small capacity methods of hauling my guns to the range...
... I'm now using Midway range bags.

AKA a "Man Bag"
I do not need a rolling bag, I back in right to the bench. I bring the boat deep cycle battery, inverter and a big box fan.
This time of year it helps blow the humidity around, Should buy a block of ice and have a real swamp cooler.

I bring as many as 6 to 10 handguns. I carry them in pistol rugs or two pistol hard plastic 'boxes', in a heavy duty gym type nylon bag. The ammo gets carried in 50 cal GI ammunition cans.

I normally take 3 firearms with me on a range trip. the guns go in a foam gun case, the ammo in a surplus ammo can and the range bag has my eyes and ears, gloves, tape, stapler, staples, a trauma kit and water and snacks and baby wipes to dust my self out after shooting. I have been thinking of a wheeled bag or box to cut down of trips.

What is this "lane" that you speak of?
In the west, we shoot outside just about anywhere we want.

P.S. We usually don't use range bags. We use vehicles. One vehicle for the guns and the second carries the ammo.

I bought one of the tool bags at lowes. Thought I could do two handguns easily and have room for targets, earphones, stapler, and ammo. While it does that pretty well, I'm limited by how many handguns I can get in it. So will measure the one I got and look for a bigger one.But lately I have been going through earmuff like crazy. Due to my hearing I use one set everytime i'm on either riding lawn mower or regular tractor. Frank

If you are from north of the Mason-Dixon, I would suggest one of these:
All joking aside, I have a friend that always uses a carpet bag he bought for going to cowboy shoots.

5.11 range bag with separate soft sided 5.11 pistol bags inside. I normally only take two handguns: .40 H&K P2000 V2 - Wife's pistol for qualification practice - plus 15 magazines (don't want her to waste range time reloading), and whatever tickles my fancy out of my safe for me to shoot. It had been my S&W 617, but I'm conserving .22LR right now. I've got an abundance of .45 ACP, so this might be the next shooter:
