Silly me, I figured the way they say it on their own tv commercials (lou-poled) was correct. I've been corrected many times and most people pronounce it (leo-pulled). what's the correct way?

I've been wrong several times. Sometimes I am corrected, sometimes not.

Live and learn.

Leo-pulled?

Ask whoever corrected you to please show you the O in the "leo" part of "leo-pulled".

'Cause funny, but I don't see it. Just looks like a U, to me. Leu-pold. Lou-polled.

'Course, them are probably the same people that insist it is a "Sake-oh", a "Smith and Weston" or a "Heckler and Cock".

I ain't had any trouble communicating what I'm looking for, nor do I recall anyone having issues asking me about the Leupold brand.

As long as we keep asking for them, I doubt anyone at Leupold & Stevens really cares how we pronounce it.

I have a feeling the Company won't be insulted if you mispronounce their name as long as you buy their product. Toemato vs tomayto kind of thing.
And yes I know I spelled it incorrectly twice!

I think I've got the pronunciation for Leupold down...........it's "Sako" rifles and "Coues" deer that throws me for a loop (uh, as in leupold). :D

Like the hunting show star Bill JORDAN pronounced JERDAN. I guess he drives a FERD pick up. Or the Midwestern girls Named KAREN that get confused with the Japanese beer KIRIN.

In the old country it's lay-o-polled,but it's been Americanized into loo-polled.I pronounce my own name the original way and my kids pronounce it the Americanized way.
