Ok, I.m not going to get into the likes/dislikes /twists in the plot. There is another thread floating around here for that. My gripe is this: The producers obviously spend a good deal of money to try to keep the costumes and props period correct and authentic. ( Heck, I just read that they had 71 Custom period correct saddles made for the show so far.) So since episode one, they stress the point that Bohanon carries a confederate Griswald revolver. It's mentioned repeatedly at various times and again in the last episode where he's "snipe hunting" with general grant. Yet in every instance I have gotten a gimps of him using the gun, he's clearly wielding a 1858 Army vs the confederate built Griswald & Gunnison. ( The Army is easy to spot as it has a top strap and a distinctive post front sight. ) . Common Hollywood, spend a little less on researching Durant's tea set and hire a prop guy who knows something about period firearms!!

I did notice in one episode, that a revolver was being unloaded. Falling onto the tabletop was what appears to be 45 Colt cartridges. Since the railroad was completed in May 1869, and considering they have yet to reach Cheyenne Wyo., I would date the show to late 1867 or early 1898. Way before the advent of large caliber revolvers with fixed cartridges, IIRC.

Yes, I noted the same. Again, for a show that spends a fortune trying to authentic, It's like the give little to no thought on the topic of guns.
I'm about the quit watching anyway, this is just another reason.
