Plenty of AR-15's at WalMart
I walked through the outdoor department at WalMart yesterday and they had 6-7 AR-15's in the rifle case. Pretty much what everyone predicted has come to pass regarding the ARs. Rifles are back to "normal" and magazines are back to normal. Hopefully, ammunition will catch up soon.

I wish someone could send a memo to the WMs in my area-to start carrying guns again.

Same drill here with the big box stores; Wally-Worlds and Academy Sports.
Was in Academy yesterday and they had roughly a dozen AR's from several different makers.

I noticed the same thing in Texarkana, TX WalMart just the other day. Several ARs. I also noticed a 250 pack of UMC 45ACP ball for $105. That sounds pretty normal to me, but I didn't see any .22 ammo in sight.

I stopped at WW today at about ten thirty and found two 325 count boxes of Remington .22.
I haven't seen .22 in a loooooong time.
Guess where I'm going Saturday. Hint, Winchester 62a and S&W K22.
$20 each with tax.

Yesterday when I saw the rifles the only handgun ammo they had was .44 Mag and i only saw 2 boxes. I did see some .223/5.56, but it was expensive. Rifle ammo is getting more common.

They had a box of .357 but I didn't need it so much and my wallet is kinda thin.
This WW don't sell guns but my local one does. My local has been thin on ammo.

Gun rack full here also AR-15, AR-10's. Ammo came in last night all popular calibers except no .22's. Prices have gone up a couple dollars but everyone was expecting that.

The price on the Colt 6920 with MagPul furniture was $1099 before 12/12. I bought one last month for $1167 ($1248.69 total), they had a total of 6 in stock. Hysteria is over, for now. Joe

The 3 closest Wal-Marts don't carry any firearms at all and very little ammo.

Most of my local gun shops are also pawnshops. I have had a couple tell me they aren't currently stocking new AR's because they feel there are a lot of new guns that were bought with credit that will be turned in to lower the card amount.

It's hard to do when they have no 22 ammo. The local WM here does not carry guns. The supply of 9mm, 45 and rifle calibers is pretty good daily. 22 ammo...rarely available, if at all. It must depend on ones location.

It has been our battle rifle (M16) for just about 50 years. I think the ammo capacity is the deciding factor. Most military shooting is at ranges that the AR handles well. If it lacks anything it is that it likes to be clean.

We had a new WM open the other day, no guns but they sold ammo. It all went quickly, especially the .22 that sold by the case to people who, my sources tell me, were going to resell it for a tidy profit. To bad they didn't put a limit on sales but they are in that business and who buys how much doesn't really matter as long as it sells.

I try. The 6920 was $1500 OTD at several shops. $50-$100 ain't a big deal, $250 is. Joe

Best thing I've heard all week!
I've seen the AR's too, including Colts. Wish they had a 6940.

Joe,
I'd been wanting one of these for awhile but was'nt gonna
pay the panic prices. So when my local Wallyworld had some
of these Colt/Magpul 6920's i picked one up couple weeks ago.
Love it. That's exactly what i paid for mine here in Indiana.
These we're 2500 and up during the "panic".
My Wallyworld also has Bushmaster, Sig, and one other
brand besides Colts. They also had a sign saying they had
more models in the "back" just ask. So i did and guy said
they had Colt SOCOM model AR15 also. It was 300 more than
the Magpul edition and i did'nt like the railed front handguard.
So everything here is pretty well back to normal save for a little higher prices.
Still kinda' hard to find rimfire ammo at
decent prices though.
Ammo besides .22's are no problem here now.
Chuck

As supplies of AR rifles and assorted ammo begin to increase back to pre-panic levels, prudent folks would be wise to start buying what can be bought. All it takes is a random crazy with a 15 to hit the front pages, and we'll have another ban threat and Tulip Mania scenario across the country.
You guys can indulge in the Wally World ARs. I've gone entirely Communist Bloc with 7.62x39.

The Uzi was good being an early made piece--but the SKS was garbage. That thing misfired on cue--every 3rd round. The Russian stuff though--is excellent. I had a Russian SKS made in 1953--also had the prettiest cherry red stock ive ever seen.

Plenty of guns in my area but still lacking in the reloading department. My local Gander Mountain had primers - $50 a thousand with no limit. That's far more than the $35 I paid in 2012. Ammo is showing up but still expensive. 223/5.56 still around $0.75 a round.

Local Wal Mart has several ARs, they had a couple boxes of 1000 rounds of Federal American Eagle bulk pack in cardboard box for $394.
