Default More Ghosts!

I was going to add this onto the end of the thread I started the other day entitled "Ghostly Phenomenon" but then thought it might make a better topic for discussion on its own.

The picture below was taken by me in I believe 2004 or so and the only thing I ever did to it was crop it down a little. This was taken before I had a digital camera using 35mm rolled film. It was taken at the Gettysbug Battlefield on Little Round Top in the evening looking up the hill at the statue of General Gouverneur Warren. After I had the roll of film developed, I saw this unmistakable form on the picture in front of the statue. At first I thought it was a double exposure (or something like that) and then realized a few things about it like the hat is different, the postures in the neck / head / back are different, and the uniform and accroutments are different. In fact, when the picture is enlarged, it looks like the figure is in civilian clothing. I had this photo looked at by several people that are reasonably good with photography (one is a notable author on Gettysburg) and none of them were able to come up with an explanation. I can also say (because I have the pictures from the roll) that I did't take any other pictures that day of other statues on memorials and no pictures of re-enactors.

I'm not saying its a "ghost" or proof of ghosts but I am saying its rather odd and I sure as heck have no idea how it got there. Have at it people - tell me what you think!!

I've only been to Gettysburg once. We were taking a horseback tour of the battlefield. We were coming back the same way we went out, and as we pasted a downed tree the guide said this was an area the Conf. dead had not been buried. I have never been in an area with humans that had started to decompose, but I have smelled large animals that have and I can only guess it is similar to that. When the guide was talking about the dead I could smell that smell. I asked others in the party, my wife was riding in front of me and friends several horses back. The wife said she thought she smelled something, and the friends smelled nothing. No dead critters on the way out, nothing but a light breeze all the way. I can't say what was going on, but there wasn't any obvious reason for what I experienced. Mark

Neat picture. They must feed well in the after life. He would make at least two subjects of a Mathew Brady photograph.

Yes, it looks like a kepi to me as well. I guess that's what made me look closer when I first saw the developed picture as Warren's hat is an officer's styled hat.

I don't believe in ghosts even though I've seen a few things over the years that make me wonder, we do have a lot of people that go to grave yards at night with tape recorders and have picked up recordings that will make your hair stand up, check this one out.
