Deer Hunters - Watch this guy skin & gut a deer in under 2 minutes.
This is something I think the deer hunters here could appreciate - a guy removes a hide & guts a hanging deer in under 2 minutes.

Yeah, I remember my first time skinning a deer, too... If the kid keeps it up, some day he's going to be pretty good at it!

Very impressive. But I have to wonder why the critter hadn't already been field dressed.

I was on a group hunt in south Alabama a few years back. We were told not to field dress our deer. They wanted us to bring them in "whole" to be skinned, dressed-out and the meat packaged for us to take home.
There was a couple guys there that skinned and dressed them out just like the guy in the video...really fast and neat job. Makes sense not to field dress when you see how good these guys are, espescially when you get your deer out of the field and to them in a reasonable amount of time.

As a general rule,we don't field dress 'em down here.
Most everybody,at least most older guys like me,have just about quit doin' the heavy work since we have so many processors available in the area. I've skinned and dressed many a deer in my day,but if I can have it done for $20,I'll never do another one. They also haul off the guts. When you dump those all over your own property, all you do is attract predators. Before the processors arrived, every creek, ditch or roadside was littered with guts and hides.

That provides a "hand hold" to carry it into the cooler to hang on a hook. Makes it a lot easier believe me.
