Internet or Techie people step on in
I seem to be having a problem with something called Scorpion Saver (AdPeak) software, I have uninstalled it about a dozen times and it seems to keep finding a way to reinstall itself every other day or two. I an running Windows Defender. My question is, is there some type of firewall or antivirus software I can install to stop this? It is becoming very annoying to say the least.

I use ESET antivirus (pay) at my business which is great but it requires a subscription - and Microsoft Security Essentials (it's Free) at home.
If you don't have an AV program you need one above and beyond Windows Defender. The Microsoft one is free and doesn't totally bog your system down like some do - I like it.
Microsoft Security Essentials - Microsoft Windows
Also - download MalwareBytes - the free version and let it scan your system for malware.

I've never had that particular problem, but my customers and I have had good luck with Super Anti-Spyware.

what you are seeing is the work of yet another program you haven't directly seen.
this program shows up as a system process who's sole purpose is to download and install malware.
what's worse is that often times there is another process guarding that one which in turn guards its guard.
Kill either process and the other will just restart it before you can delete either executable.
My primary web PCs are always dual boot systems.
even with the nastiest package dumping its payload all over windows, I just noodle with killing odd processes till I find a few that seem to protect eachother, then I boot to linux where they cant function and start deleting them out of their little ecosystem.
take good notes through such actions because when your back over in Windows you'll need to find these little duckfarts in your registry so they can't grow legs again.

I run MS Security Essentials all the time, and scan about once a week with MalwareBytes Anti-Malware. Both are free and have kept my machine clean for years. I've used MalwareBytes a couple of times to clean my father's PC when he or my stepmother accidentally installed computer bugs.

Go to the link that cowart presented. Follow those instructions. This looks like a program that loads from a browser toolbar extension. You will need to take positive action to remove the program and the toolbar extension. It is designed to be difficult to remove.

This is one of the reasons I switched to Apple for internet use about four years ago.
