When shooting J frames with small wooded grips the trigger guard frequently hits my fingers. Is it just that I need a stronger grip? Or can I add something like a Tyler-T grip to fill the gap between fingers and trigger guard?

Tyler's home page is kind of primitive. What modern company does not accept credit cards or online orders?

I recall reading a thread that said something about them....let us say, not meeting customers' expectations. The thread did not go into details. I don't know if that was just gripping or a real problem. Any helpful info would be welcomed.

I would rather not switch to a rubber grip.

Grip adapters might work depending on your hand size.A member here makes a resin adapter with two clips that works well.BK grip adapters.

Depends on where your knuckles land. Although I love Tylers, I do NOT use them on my 642 or 342PD, because that is when I get my knuckles rapped. Instead, I use standard Model 36 Magnas, and a death grip on the checkering.

Still love the Tylers for steel RB J frames, and for even Airweight SB J frames.

Tyler had some issues for a while a few years ago. They are under new management and are now as reliable as they should be. I agree that it's odd that they don't process electronic transactions.

I can't recommend Tyler T. I've returned two adapters in the past month because they didn't fit my round butt M66 properly. I expect higher quality for my money than they seem to want to produce. Sorry, but that's my take. I haven't tried the BK adapter.

I cannot comment on current T-grip quality, because most of mine are older, but I can tell you my experience. It seems to me that both T-grips and particularly older S&W revolvers are subject to some variation in dimensions. Why this would be true, particularly in the case of the T-grips, I do not know, but it seems to be true nonetheless.

I traded guns not many years ago with someone on this site who had a Model 12 with a Tyler that didn't fit. He may have had other issues with it, also, but I believe that both of us were quite happy with the trade. Sure enough, his Tyler did NOT fit right. But I had another bare aluminum Tyler that did, and the one off of his gun fit another nickel or stainless gun I had. I have only had this happen two or three times in the dozen or so guns I have had with Tylers, but it does happen, and I don't recollect ever having had a wasted Tyler or an unfit gun.

Those are the facts. You may draw your own conclusions.

Any kind of grip that fills in the area between the trigger guard and front strap of the grip frame would work - just like a T-grip. Factory or aftermarket wooden target grips might be an option since you don't like rubber (or presumably polymer) grips.

Personally, I like my Uncle Mikes "boot" grips just fine.
