Posting blah's.
Anyone else out there got the "posting blah's"? I don't know what's up with me but I just cannot get it together to make some posts. For example, I bought some new six-guns and would like to post, but oh jeeze, got to go up and get the item along with some props perhaps, lug em downstairs and get the camera, arrange things, take some horrible pictures, get them into the PC, resize them to be able to post said pictures, then make the post. By this time just thinking about it sounds like too much trouble and that is that. This has been going on awhile now, how does one get into such a state of mind? I'm retired, have the time but not the inclination at least for the moment. Am I alone here or as is said "misery loves company"?

Well it all boils down to what you are interested in doing at the time and you don't sound to be too fired up. Go buy a new gun and maybe that will help.

Too much trouble! Use an iPhone and ipad with the tapatalk app.Shoot the photo with the phone and it automatically goes to the ipad where you can edit and post it in a few seconds.

Yeah, in a perfect world I would have taken a few pictures of our aquariums and posted them on the thread that was active a few days back.
I bought an '85ish M 60 last week it had a few small scratches so I polished it with Mothers Mag Polish. I replaced the wood stocks with Hague Bantams. It's got a great look and shoots really well. I should have taken and posted those pictures but haven't yet (they are coming for sure though).
The stocks were original but have been varnished. I need to do a search or start a thread on cleaning them up.
And there have been some interesting things to comment on along the way that I have passed on. So, I'm with ya Bob. Not sure why, but I'm in the same boat.

Sounds like hesperian depression to me. Get some sunlight, or some bulbs with the natural spectrum. Either that, or hibernate, wait for warmer weather and longer days.

I have been on the internet since about 1997. I know some of you have been into computers longer than that but for me it seems like a darn long time.
I was brought kicking and screaming into the computer world by my employer. Otherwise I would probably STILL not have one or ever be using one. You could call it a love/hate thing for me. I don't play games, I don't play the stock market, I don't do porn, and with the rare exception I don't shop on line. But I don't do E-bay or Craigs list and I am NOT a pay pal, facebook, twitter, tweeter, or tooter kind a guy neither.
I am strictly in it for connection to people. 3 or 4 website forums and e-mail and that's it for me.
But after about 10 years into it I found myself getting temporarily burned out sometimes. I can't really understand or explain it but sometimes I'll be going along just posting here and there and then I'll wake up one day and not feel like even logging on.
No, I'm not bi-polar or anything but sometimes I feel kinda like Nurse Annie Wilkes from the movie Misery with James Caan and Kathy Bates.
I'm still real new around here so it hasn't happened to me for this site but some of the ones I've been on for 10 years or more I just have to back out for a few days and then I'm fine. Then I go back and get caught up and roll along alright until the next time.
I know others like to take a break now and then as well. I wouldn't worry about it too much. 'course now if you loose interest and it doesn't come back, well, that may be another story....

It is a little early in the season for cabin fever. Winter does not start for nine more days! LOL

I get the posting blahs sometimes when I find myself recycling the same old information for the perennial questions.
Current instant burnout subjects:
1) Can my [fill in blank] handle +P?
2) What .38 Special round can I use for home defense that with one shot will reduce an intruder to mist but bounce harmlessly off plaster?
3) I just found a [fill in blank] that's easily 98% (based on glancing over the finish and zero mechanical checks). How much should I pay for it?

Do what most here do. Make an unappetizing dinner and take a picture of it with one of your guns.

Sometimes when things start getting a little samey, somebody says clip then the excitement starts.
I had a perfect pic set up today. Our kitten Natayo was actually cooperating. I had a shot of him looking cute, a 4" 66-3 and a speedloader all perfectly set up. I had the camera all ready, was about to push the button, then the cat gets up and shambles off. I put my wife's favorite knife with it instead.

I hear ya Bob. My own blah feeling was twofold. First the topics available to comment on were/are not of interest or so stupid (to my thinking and liking) that I just couldn't make myself comment for fear of being banned by management or scolded by other members.
Second, I posted something very important to me and something I thought would draw great interest and response. I was flabber-gasted when I got hardly any views, only a couple likes and less than five replies. I was surprised and actually felt a little hurt by the lack of response. But then I put on my big boy pants and moved on with my life with this forum in the rear view mirror for a few weeks.
I check the for-sale list every once in a while for that must buy and look quickly at the remainder of the forum. If a topic catches my attention I read it, otherwise I just pass by quietly like a black helicopter.

I tend to hibernate! No winter sports for me and since my doc nixed scuba diveing due to some medical problems I cant even go ice diveing. My wife just tonight commented about my lethargic mood saying, every year when I put the motorcycles up for the winter and cant get to the range as much due to the cold that I get into a funk till spring. Thank goodness for hand loading and bullet casting! Thanks for the support all!

Just now it's hard for me to get going. I have an article all ready for Auto Mag, the journal of the National Automatic Pistol Collectors' Association, on a strange Mauser broomhandle shoulder stock I have. It needs just one more photo, that shows the interior of the stock alongside the interior of a normal stock. It's a tricky setup, and I just haven't been able to find the energy to set it all up, re-do the lighting wiring, get the camera close enough, etc, etc. Perhaps one of these days. I hope Tom Knox, the NAPCA president, will forgive me.
