Default Proof that no good deed goes unpunished.

As you will notice from my post, I've upgraded my membership from Endowment to Patron for the $300 cost. After all, it goes to the NRA to help in the fight, right?

So yesterday, I'm in my LGS and he shows me a 1903 Colt 32ACP with about 90-95% bluing left he had just taken in on a trade. Looking up the serial number in a book he had placed the date of manufacture somewhere around 1916-1919 so it's possible it was made during WW I. Price $500!!!!! Bless her heart, Mrs. SS2 called and tried to put the gun on layaway for me today but it had lasted less than 3 hours in the shop yesterday. My counter guy said it was purchased just shortly after I walked out yesterday. Without the upgrade in membership, i would have been on that gun like a duck on a Junebug. Just more proof that no good deed goes unpunished.

Well that must be a bitter pill to swallow. But your contribution to our cause might just turn out to be the one that made the difference in an important victory in the future. I offer my sincere thanks for your participation in our on going struggle. The fact that you and so many others are willing to help support the NRA makes it possible for us to even be able to walk into a store and buy a gun.

Your contribution may have made it impossible to buy this gun but it will benefit ALL Americans so it was money well spent. Again, many thanks!

I think Wayne LaPierre or Chris Cox owe you a 95% Colt 1903! Tough luck for sure!

With what Mr. LaPierre makes, he should be good for it.
