Couldn't tell you how it went. 20 minutes away and didn't go this time. Got a gun for Christmas and saving funds. Then there's the 8-12" of snow, that wasn't... Friend of mine went yesterday but haven't heard anything from him yet...

Went right past there yesterday. Visited with the Grand daughter for her 1st birthday. Used up my 2 guest passes so I'm banned, not really. Look foreward to seeing what people find there. George, I thought you went to all of them. Larry

Exactly! Someone should be along shorty to show us what we'd have bought...

We had a table at the Louisville show yesterday. It was pretty well packed with buyers. There was a bunch of money changing hands, but we didn't sell any guns, just some old ammo. I think Ben sold a watch. That was good because everyone says the watch market is beyond dead.
I bought a box of bullets (500). Then some guy came in with a nice Randall and only wanted $350 for it, so I bought it.
But when I got home I tried calling my sons. The older one agreed to get up early and go to the OGCA show. So we still arrived a little late, like 9:00. But it was a ghost town. A whole bunch of empty tables, where either the vendors didn't show up or they left after Saturday. DanT had a really nice .32-20 on his table. I get confused easily, and the gun confused me. It was probably a 95% gun, or maybe a 98% with the correct grips. It was up around 135,000 serial, meaning it did have the mushroom shaped ejector knob. But then it also ad some very nice 19-teens gold medallion grips. Just not right for the gun. He wanted $800.
So we walked. I did buy 2 10 ga black powder blanks for $1, then a box of 12 ga blanks for $8 more. Then we walked. Big show, but pretty empty. One guy at a front end cap had an M&P Target from maybe the 1930 time frame. He wanted $900 for it. So we walked. After an hour and a half, we started doing both sides of the aisles instead of walking up one side and down the other. Takes half the time and with half the tables open, we didn't miss much. Later on I spied a speed strip for 44-45s. I needed it. So we left and ate at Wendy's. Might have been the best part of the show. And my son drove and I took a 20 minute nap on the way home.
Every thing looks so expensive to me. I'm sorry, maybe I'm showing my age. But just since the November show, prices have surged. The government reports inflation is flat, but prices seem to be up every time I turn around. Even the Federal 550s are now at $60 up from $50 or $55. You know the ones, they were $13.42 a few years ago. Bullets are now selling for $.40 each, or more. Not ammo, just the bullets.
And the vendors at the OGCA show weren't very interested. The ones that were there seemed to be out looking. It was a good show to have missed. At least the Lexington show was packed and there was money changing hands.

I got there at 10:00 am Sat. and stayed until closing.
Attendence down some, maybe 20 tables empty.
Forcast for Sunday was 8 to 10 inches of snow.
I did pick up some Smith revolvers. The first one a M37.
A man walking around with it said the extractor rod was stripped out.
I paid $175 and took a chance. Got it to the car and played with it. The crane and cylinder started to fall out. Turned it over and noticed the front sideplate screw was sticking up. Took it and the middle one out and swapped places. Revolver fixed. Almost closing time a M10-5 five inch bbl. appeared on a table. Got it for $225.00. Nothing wrong with it. Passed on M36 3" heavy bbl. for $375. I can get them cheaper. Got K and N frame magnas for $5.00 a pair. Sold everything I took just walking around. Dumped all my Rugers and Taurus. I don't want that stuff anymore. Any gun show is a good one if you search real good keep walking till it's over. I always enjoy the OGCA meets and never fail to get a deal.
