Oh, so YOU'RE the guy who bought the other 74 Vega. I owned two of them at one time. That pretty much accounts for all of them.

I've always had a thing for Tri Pacers. I owned a nearly new 78 C172 in 1980-82. Great plane but always had a thing for the Tri Pacers.
Get that tail dragger back into the air! I've got a few hours in a Citabria.

couldnt kill that aluminum 2.3 litre . ran it out of oil seized it ,several times. put in some oil let her cool down for 10 minutes and off you go again. i learned a lot about driving in that car. drifting, hollywood turns ,rockfords and even some aerial stunts, but vegas dont land well, and you miss the party...

My first car was a 74 Vega hatchback, I feel your pain. Did you burn a quart of oil a day?

I worked at a gas station when I was in high school, and remember two things about the Vegas; having to put lots of oil in them, and how much they rusted. The rust was unreal, happened very fast with those cars.
If I remember correctly, the oil had to do with an early attempt by GM to mate an aluminum head with a cast iron block. It did not work very well...
