"The Rifleman!" His Entire Body Count In Less Than 10 Minutes!
Yes. Here you have it. Every guy Chuck Connors was forced to, uh, deal with permanently in the entire Rifleman series. Get your popcorn and enjoy!

Never noticed he was a south paw until this video.
I bet those ejected shells were a pain in the face to him...LOL.
But then again, he might have have a custom rifle made for him.
Paladin and Bat Masterson both had custom made pistols.

Those are some very large and strong looking hands.
From his posture and demeanor I don't believe your Dad brooked much BS.

WOW! 120 men. I watched most of them growing up but never realized he wasted 120 of them.
Hey..... wait a minute here - how come we're all not mass killers???? After all, what's the count if you combined ALL the Westerns like:
Paladin, The Rifleman, The Virginian, Bonanza, Gunsmoke, Rawhide, Bat Masterson, etc. etc. etc. I better ask some of the "knowledgeable folks" (yea, right) like Bloomberg, Pelosi, McCarthy, Feinstein, and the rest who also probably watched these shows just like we did growing up.

Couple of surprises, he used a handgun and a shovel in a couple of those kills and boy, he had some head of hair.

I do remember that! Mort Drucker was one of my favorite artists. As I recall, he drew the Rifleman's gun with so many notched, the entire rifle looked like Swiss cheese.
I think Lucas had heat seaking 44-40 bullets because he always hit guys even though his barrel was wobblin' all over the place. I literally had tears in my eyes laughing watching this with that bell going off for every kill.

"Kids nowadays watch too much violence on video games."
I remember watching all those shows when I was growing up and never once heard of a school shooting in the 1950's or 60's

What a fun vid! I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Usually we waited 20+ minutes to see the conflict build before Lucas was forced to neutralize the evil men with a hail of lead. It had this thing called a "plot" and there were no robot fights at all. Imagine that?!

Probably had a progressive press set up in the back room.
He must have averaged 6 shots per bad guy.

Actually, he was ambidextrous. In some scenes, he fires the rifle right handed, (with the same amazing accuracy too!)
IIRC, Chuck Connors was quite an athlete. He had played first base for a major league baseball team, and had also played professional basketball.
What really floored me was Fred Dryer (star of Hunter). I had heard he played professional football, but I had no idea he played in the NFL for 13 years!

He probably used a Dillon Progressive press he got from Matt Dillon. Dillon shot even more guys, but he had 15 extra years to do it. Boot Hill in Dodge must have looked like Mt. Everest.

Did anyone ever count up all the times Matt Dillon got shot?
If it wasn't for digging bullets out of Matt, Doc Adams might have had to go back East to make a living!

And taking carbuncles off of Festus' backside.
PS: Did any see Lucas using a plank with a handgun in the notch??? I get that was their idea of a makeshift rifle.

I saw that episode. Vic Morrow had his rifle. McCain had a pistol from a bad guy. Morrow had him pinned down leisurely shooting at him. So McCain rigged up a shoulder stock, made a rifle, and shot Vic Morrow. It was a dumb one. BTW, my friend had a crippled cat and named him Festus. the cat knew that name by the time my friend realized it was Chester that limped. So he stayed Festus.

I loved watching that show when I was a kid. Fast forward: years later I attended LE training on sex offenders, and found out that show is a favorite of the members of an organization of pervs who call themselves the North American Man Boy Assoc. (NAMBA). While you and I saw nothing but a father-son relationship being portrayed, NAMBA saw something entirely different. They're still out there.

The show was before my time and wasn't even in re-runs when I was growing up in the 70s. Did you all notice the one kill by pitchfork near the end? Ouch. Technically, I guess it was a suicide.

I noticed he killed Mort Mills several times as well as Claude Akins, John Dehner and Skip Homeier.
Mort Mills:
Claude Akins in: The Rifleman:
John Dehner in: The Rifleman:
Skip Homeier in: The Rifleman:

Did you catch the one where he shot a guy using a make shift "rifle?" Something happened to his own rifle and he took a smashed pistol and a board and created a Franken-rifle. The pistol's barrel was at one end and the rest of the gun was at the other. Weird, but it worked.

I got the Three Stooges box set for Christmas. I wish I had some editing software and the time to put together something like the Rifleman montage with all the different ways
they slapped, poked, hit each other with tools, shot or got shot, threw gooey pies and other acts of mayhem. If done right it would be quite a show.

He played a mad bomber in a movie that I cant remember the name. It sure was a different character. In another movie he played I think called "Branded". Someone was threatening him with a hot branding iron and he snapped, grabbed the iron from the guy, pulled it to his chest and screamed. Pretty rough the first time I seen it.

I am surprised that the Winchester Mdl 92, isn't on the list of evil assault weapons and banned in several states. It holds too many rounds and can be fired too fast.

Caruso was good but my favorite "Indian" actor was Michael Pate who was a native Australian. The only movie that I can recall him portraying an Aussie was "PT-109.

Amen to that. Loved Pate as Vittorio in: Hondo, loved him as Sierra Charriba in: Major Dundee--and in any other role as an Indian.
Hondo:
Sierra Charriba:
Interesting to see that google has many of my exact images-like this one showing Heston w/ Mr Potts silver inlaid shotgun:

One of the worst portrayal of an Indian was, well, Chuck Connors! He played a blue eyed Geronimo in a movie that the Western Channel seems to play twice a day.
