here !!!
I'm here !!!
I have not actually contributed any input (being too much of a newbie), but have benefited greatly from reading so many informative and charming posts. I guess that makes me some sort of female lurker
Just wanted to check in and let you know that at least I am out here.

Well how about a good Chocolate Cake or Cookie recipe?
I think we would all enjoy that kind of contribution.

I'm an East Tennessee native. I was raised on "Bless your (his, her) heart." Very subtle way of carving somebody.

I'm pretty sure he was teasing. Tsk, tsk...Damn Yankee!
I miss Linda's superb gun photos, and Lady Fed and others seem not to post.
What became of 1911 girl (?), the Scot living in Spain? She made some really good posts with fine photos of southern Spain. She liked Glock, but I think we forgave her shortcomings in that regard.

thank you
JayCeeNC, thank you for the welcome. I have been more or less lurking for several months, have posted very little. I have to admit to being somewhat intimidated by the wealth of knowledge and obvious comraderie amongst many of the gentlemen who inhabit these forums. I feel unworthy so I listen and try to learn.
I'm in Sanford, transplanted 35 years ago from NY.
Love to shoot, love my wheel guns. Glad to be here.

Wealth of knowledge? Is that the southern way to say, "I didn't want to bust you out on all your BS"?

Nonsense. No need to feel intimidated.
Most of us don't know ****.
We just look like we do because we have a copy of Standard Catalog of Smith & Wesson 3rd Edition. Any info we post, we just looked it up in the book.
We're glad to have you here.

Lets get this straight. If a northerner travel south, they are just plain 'Yankees'. If they stay then they are "Damn Yankees".

I am here. I do not just make a point of being a female because some folks tend to get nervous about such things. But now that I am out of the closet, so to speak, I'll admit that I'm not posting as much because I'm back in school! I'm teaching part time and working on a doctorate.
Just don't have enough time to go shooting, and the snowfall messed up my free time.
Oh, another thought--don't forget the special ladies in your life this Valentines! A new revolver might not be her forte, but a little something special is usually greatly appreciated--her favorite coffee, perhaps?
oops--gone to meddling....

Meddle on, we all do that here to one extent or another.
But if she wanted to get me a new revolver, I would take her to Starbucks many, many times!

I am noticing more and more women at our gun club than ever, most seem to be having a good time and are very intense on their shooting. I think its a good, welcomed trend. Hope more feel welcomed to this forum as well.

OK..Looking at Miss KTP's first post in this thread, who made the "charming post"? I didn't think we were allowed to be charming. Or, is that capable?

Your being here and your service to your community are enough of a contribution.
This is a great place. Don't be afraid to ask questions or share your feelings. Sometimes it's nice to hear the female perspective on things.
Besides, I'm stuck here with all these old curmudgeons!!

It would be nice to hear the opinions and knowledge (and I know there's plenty) of women.I think it's like real life though, lots of grumpy old poops with strong opinions and residual testosterone harrumphing their way along. At least that describes me.

I am also here !!!
I have been keeping up with my thread reading but not so much with my female input.....
So, I decided that one of my new year's resolutions is to be more active in the forum, post more comments and photos, and let you all know that in fact there are some gun loving women in Southern California.
I am sure most of you have never even seen my name or read the few comments I've made. That's ok. I have a pretty sarcastic sense of humor and sorry, No chocolate cake or cookie's recipes.....

I generally don't have much to say but enjoy reading the stuff here. I'm more likely to share in something photography related and stick to reading about the gun stuff (or being amused in the lounge. I swear you guys talk more about cooking and that kind of stuff than any one I know! LOL!)
I've also been surprised at how many women I *have* noticed here. Definitely more than the 4x4 club forum I use to frequent. Then again, I think you guys accept us better here too.

I've also been surprised at how many women I *have* noticed here. Definitely more than the 4x4 club forum I use to frequent. Then again, I think you guys accept us better here too.

If I was to CCW pack (haven't quite reached that point yet), I would be packing my S&W M60-Lady Smith. Just can't decide on a holster though

KTP several thoughts
First: Don't be afraid to speak up, we really do better as a forum with many voices and views. I will also tell you that I have gained some very useful knowledge from being "wrong". Frankly if it's kept respectful, I like to here when others think I'm full of it.
Second: Glaco has a number of purse holsters and both Safariland and Bianchi make female specific waste band holsters.
Third: I was always told by my cousin in Texas "bless his/her heart" was code for "that ____ing fool" as in "Karen, bless her heart, she just can never seem to get out of rain"

Or, "Billy-Ray wrecked his truck again, bless his heart."
