CONGRATULATIONS to both you and him (probably especially to Mom!), and thank him for me for his decision to serve.

Congratulations to you both! My thanks to your son for his service to our Country. I hope he finds the experience as rewarding as I did.
You should be proud of yourself too for raising such a fine young man.

As you should be. Obviously you and the wife raised that young man right.
He's lucky to be where he's at with the oncoming cutbacks.
God Bless him and protect him.

I know the feeling, though it was 28 years ago for my son. Go ahead and bust those buttons, you're entitled!

My wife and I made the trip to Ft. Benning when our youngest graduated from Basic/Infantry School. We were so proud we were about to bust!
Congratulate your son and give him the thanks of an old veteran.

Funny thing is he never shot much. He shot my 9c a couple times and his 243 every year to sight it in for buck. He did tell me he was grouping under a dime at 300 meters.

Good for you and him, Joe. My son's been in for 11 years. The only down side are those blankity-blank deployments. With things drawing down, hopefully he won't be deploying every other year.

That's what I told my boy. There's nothing around here but fast food and factory work. I wish I would've joined. I've been at the same job 16 years. I would've had 20 years in in another 1 ½ years.

Congratulations to your son, and thanks to him for his willingness to serve. Only a true patriot dons his country's uniform when there is a shooting war going on...
May the Good Lord bless your son and keep him safe...and congrats again!

Well don't keep us in suspense, what job is he going to do in the Army??
It's good that your son took this step to defend our nation.
My wife, my son, and I were all in the Army, and we got to see the world for free, and went to places that were amazing!!
If he comes to Bagram, tell him I will fix his computer for free!!

I missed somethng. In the first photo, he seems to be wearing a green beret. But he just now graduated Basic?!
I'm not totally up on current US Army berets, but I thought those were for Special Forces. Those guys have a lot more time in service and have passed advanced special training. Most who apply fail. (Wash out.)
Who knows the current beret colors and who wears what?
I'm sort of current on USAF ones, but not on other branches of the military. My career field in the AF has dark blue ones. I liked them very much.
Good luck to your son. I hope he fares better than mine. Got wounded twice in Iraq and once in a place that can't be disclosed. I'm glad that he's out now, but am proud of his service.
