I have a Corvette but it's 25 years old. My wife and are are in 100% agreement that this 2014 model is the best Corvette yet and if we can figure out a way to financially swing it were going for one!
Congratulations on the purchase of what I consider to be the best value in exotic cars today.

Just curious, how does one with a handicap wheelchair license plate get in an out of such a car?

BTW, I am jealous!

They have a big door that swings wide, and their is a lot of travel and ajustments with the seats. Go to a big show like Corvettes at Carlisle and you will see quite a few.

OP nice car

The blending of the rear quarter panels and the rear window are gorgeous and the rear end screams "I'm a 'vette!"

Hey, often around here they're on stepladder height SUV's, same difference I guess. I saw one in Mt Airy NC this year on a Delorean!

I would love to see one in person, fat chance in this little burg, but to me it looks more like a Camaro than a Vette in the picture.

Not everyone with a handicap license plate or hang tag needs a wheelchair.

I knew a guy with pulmonary disease who could drive all day long but not easily walk more than about 100 feet at a time without a break. I suppose he could have used a wheelchair but there want anything wrong with his legs just a matter of oxygen in vs exertion.

Congrats! I've never driven one, but love the way my dad's 98 drives. The new ones must really be something. Compared to other sports cars, the Corvette is a bargain! Better than most cars that are twice the price.

All I would want to do is drive and drive and drive and drive....and drive some more.....

A fine-looking machine, that.

Not a car guy myself, so I had to read up on it a bit: http://www.edmunds.com/chevrolet/cor...stingray/2014/

Now that'd be a lot of fun on the twisty roads out here.

They've had the road crew out here fillin' the holes but you're right about the deer. Come to think of I've seen a big ol' black bear lumberin' across the road.

Default I saw a 'vette

I saw a 'vette on the road the other day that was the best looking one I have ever seen. I searched the net when I got home trying to figure out what I saw but couldn't find it. It might have been a 2014! The LINES were terrific.

on good days I can walk with a cane. every other day is crutches. getting in and out can be an adventure, but even more satisfying when you finally get in. as the old saying goes,"life is short and nobody is guaranteed tomorrow." enjoy it while you can. I waited many years to be able to have this and I wasn't going to let some physical issues keep me from it. thanks to all for the kind words.

One time I got into a Fiero and couldn't get out. It was mainly trying to get my feet through that tiny crack between the hinge and the seat. I couldn't raise up my knees because of the dash and wheel and I couldn't twist because you can only sit in it one way. I thought they were going to have to get the 'Jaws of Life'.

I can't tell from the pics but did GM figure out to put the same size wheels and tires all the way around? Joe

Like the colour combo. Edmunds.com have one in dark green with black wheels, positively retch inducing.

Very nice Perazzi . You need to get down to Carlisle this August, thousands of vettes in one place, quite the sight.

snowman- it has a 6 speed auto with paddle shifters, all aluminum v-8 engine with direct injection and it puts out 460hp with the perf. exhaust system. also has the z51 pkg. and magnetic shocks. the shocks let you change the handling of the car and also changes the throttle tip in. for you race car guys, it has a dry sump oiling system that takes 10 qts. of oil each change. mobil one of course. on the z51 the tires are not the same front to rear. 19in on front and 20in on rear. also Michelin says not to drive on these tires below 40 degrees. plan to have it sit during the winter with the battery tender on it. sorry for the long post, but hope I answered your questions. if any more, please pm me if you want.

How do you like the paddle shifers? I think they'd get some getting used to.

You lucky dog! She's a beauty!! It wouldn't do for me to own a new one...they'd take my license. When I bought my '75 I took his 01 for a spin and was going 90 mph coming out of 2nd. Without trying! That's why I quit riding Harley's after 30 years. I have no self discipline. Nowadays I just pop the t tops and enjoy the cruise!

no more split windows. paddle shifters take some getting used to and I haven't as of yet,but working on it. when you pull the paddle, it shifts right now. even has a rev matching feature for dropping gears. don't have most of the radio figured out yet either. they used to just play music, now they do almost everything else.

Love the 2014. Even though I'm an old air cooled Porsche guy.

If you are gonna keep it for awhile, definitely get the extended warranty. Got friends that have 2008 and 2009 and some of the simplest repairs are eye-opening $$$
