. . . So What Gun Was Used in The Title Sequence of Superman?

I don't know what the gun was, but I remember one opening where the bad guy empties his gun at Superman. I don't recall if he caught the bullets, or if they bounced off, but Supe was not fazed. The frustrated bad guy then threw his gun at Supe, and he ducked!

Probably Superman was reluctant to damage a fine revolver by having it impact his chest of steel. Better to duck and let the gun hit the softer concrete sidewalk.

Watching that clip makes me feel nine years old all over again.

Gawd how I loved to watch that show.

Thanks for the memory.:)

That was a living room topic circa 1955 too. ;)

There was both a Colt and a S&W M&P used at different times. The Colt looked like an OP, and was missing the extractor rod knob. I thought that was strange.

How many know George Reeves was killed with a Luger? It's never been determined if it was suicide or homicide.

That's why he was the man of steel. I bet if he was shot with a 1911 those .45's wouldn't a bounced off him as easy as those 158 gr RN's:eek:

Nope, if he'd been hit in the finger with the .45 he'd have spun around and if hit in the chest, he'd have been flat on his back.

Now, according to Jeff Cooper.......

Truth......... Justice............ and the American way.

Those days are long gone.
