Should you NOT have TV, PC, stereo, etc in the bedroom?
I'm single and live by myself.
One habit I've always had is to keep anything of mine that I value locked in my room, and the home I own is the one I've lived in for 20 or so years now (Grandparents place).
Anyway, I'm in the process of trying to move and clean around all kinds of wires and stuff that go to the TV, games, blah, blah, blah, and am thinking about just moving the items into a living room or something.
Seems I've heard that it is actually better to not have these items in the bedroom, as it affects sleep.

I don't have TV in the bedroom. I do keep a small stereo and I softly play 8 Hour Deep Sleep Music: Delta Waves Sleep Meditation, Deep Sleep, Inner Peace ?159 - YouTube and other deep sleep music on it. I also use aromatherapy and black-out curtains. My sleep schedule, when I'm working, is so erratic and I want to keep the process of falling asleep to a minimum. I find this consistency really works for me.

My living room is full of books, computer (and photography and holster making) gear and clothes. I have a large computer desk there, but since all of my flight sim hardware became obsolete, I no longer have a working PC in the room. I have one of my two stereo receivers there to play music when I'm in the kitchen, as well as a TV and VCR which I haven't reconfigured since the power went out a year or two ago.
I don't get company, so my day to day stereo, PC and TV are in the bedroom. That's where I spend most of my time when I'm at home. I have the PC sound running into the stereo, and for the most part, that's how I play music.

The bedroom is for two things. And TV is not one of them.

Before I was married, I simply slept in the living room on a futon. I used the bedrooms only for storage. Thus I slept in front of my TV in a nest of gun magazines, Scotch bottles, and so on.

We have a TV in the bedroom hidden in an armoire. My wife loves watching TV in bed and is a news junkie. It annoys me but since I don't work and she still does I'm out voted.
It did come in handy yesterday though as my new cable box in the living room was acting up and couldn't get the Tigers game to come on. My FIL is a big fan and was here so he got to watch some of it in the bedroom instead. Only good use of it I've found though in a long time.

Well, whatever works for you...,
But a TV in the bedroom can lead to you staying up later at night, which may not be a good idea. Some music played softly or a white noise machine helps me sleep.

I have a tv in the bedroom. Mostly because I despise most of my wife's shows and it allows me to watch what I want if her shows are on.

Mrs JT and I will watch some of our later shows in bed. Well get all ready for bed before the show starts, so as soon as it's over, lights out.

I despise somebody having the TV or a radio on when trying to sleep. I also like the room dark, no blasted nightlights or a door open to where there is light. Also, I cannot sleep in rooms with internal A/C units unless I wear earplugs.

I've always kept my room for sleeping mostly until the last few years. It started with a desktop. We moved and I ditched the desktop, but now I have a t.v. I still don't use it too much, but I would have to say the biggest thing keeping me from sleep is probably my phone.

I only use my bedroom for sleeping--I'm widowed and not dating, so that's all it's for. Haven't had had a TV in one for 40 years. I could neither watch television nor read in bed comfortably. As for the radio, when music is playing I have to really listen to it, so that doesn't work.

I can go to sleep in Grand Central Station---light does not interrupt my sleep.
When I gets sleepy, I goes to sleep and when I wake up, I gets up.
I watch TV from our bed and my wife sleeps on the couch in front of her TV.
Life for old folks is cut to the bone---we just does what we want.
Blessings

While working in Dover, race week end came around and the other guy from our company and I were suddenly out of a room.
We *lucked out* and found a double right there in Dover. It was either that or drive to Philadelphia and back to work from Wednesday till Monday or Tuesday.
After an 18 hour day we ate and crashed. My working buddy turned on the radio, TV, and every light in the room and went to bed!
I got up and drove to Philly.........

HEY !!
one needs everything in your bedroom including a snack bar and a refrigerator. In this way one can survive no mater what is going on outside. (consider that the Cops have your house surrounded and the weather is really bad. You can negotiate better if you are comfortable and the Cops an't)

A few years ago, my doctor asked me if I would participate in a sleep apnea clinic sponsored by the University of Michigan. Since I snored, he was concerned. I filled out the forms, and went to the hospital for an overnight stay.
I was hooked up to the sleep computer, and monitored on TV from a central station. After the test, I was interviewed a few days later by a doctor specializing in sleep disorders. He told me that my apnea was a "6" on a scale of 6-15, barely noticeable.
The equipment I was hooked to measured a lot of things, among them the time it took me to go to sleep. I thought I was awake for at least 30 minutes after going to bed. Instead, I went to sleep in about seven minutes, a clear sign that I didn't have problems. I asked the doctor why it seemed so long to me, and he responded that the mind runs faster than the clock. Makes perfect sense.
I was also given a list of things to do before going to bed. - Have the room as dark as possible.
- Take off your watch.
- The thermostat should be turned down a few degrees.
- Don't have TV's, stereos, computers, etc., set up in the bedroom.
- If you have an alarm clock, turn it away from you. The light and ability to see the display can have an effect on a night's sleep.
- Cut off caffeine intake at least two hours before bedtime.
- Avoid evening naps.
I still follow his recommendations, and I sleep very well.

Not necessarily. Remember Christopher Dorner? He tried that and LE came along and burned the home to the ground. Apparently, some LE agencies have less patience than others.

Down here in the south you have to have a T.V. in the bedroom. I mean how else can I romance Mrs. Sheepdawg and keep up with wrestling?

The cats seem to enjoy watching TV in the bedroom. One of them only pays attention to commercials, but fortunately we cancelled his credit card so he can't buy all those cat toys we see advertised.

I live alone, no electronics in the bedroom except for a clock radio that I use as a alarm clock.
Living out in the woods, I only hear the wind, owls, and sometimes the neighbor's dog barking.
My ritual is to go to bed at the same time each night and awake at sunrise. If I can't get to sleep right away I read the Holy Bible until I become sleepy.
