Interesting HAZMAT situation
The X-37B returned to Earth recently, and I was intrigued by the suits the ground crew were wearing. Is this because the heat resistant/ablative coatings are poisonous?
BBC News - Space plane: Mysterious US military plane returns to Earth
They wore beefier suits than that on the Nostromo and the alien still got in.

Last time I saw a suit like that in use, Keir Dullea was battling HAL.

Boron Carbon fibers? Beryllium? Modern military aircraft are chock-full of bad stuff...imagine this is the case here too.

Isn't it still standard to be careful of germs around anything that was in orbit? I remember that the Apollo astronauts were quarantined.

Maybe, I don't know, but I think the engine might use a JP8/H2O2 mixture and like the ground crews of Me163 Komet, they don't want to turn to goo if there's a leak/accident.

I'd think they're for potential main/vernier engine fuel fumes/leaks. Those liquid fuels (UDMH) & their oxidizers (NTO), or variants, are deadly.

Yup, they have to walk around and test with a sniffer thing to see if anything's leaking. They used to do the exact thing with the shuttle, wearing the same suits.
