Default Cowboy Photographs

I borrowed this link from the good folks on the Colt forum. I knew you would enjoy these authentic, period cowboy photographs from the Erwin E. Smith Collection of the Library of Congress on deposit at the Amon Carter Museum, Fort Worth, Texas.

Copy that thingy he typed there and paste it in your "search" gizzy.

I grew up about 40 years after them fellers. I experienced many of the things they did as a kid.

As Dave Keith would say, " I wouldn't take a million for them times, and I wouldn't give a nickel for some more of them"

Its nice to see that some of them were copied in clothing style--by the likes of John Wayne, Dan Blocker, Chuck Connors, Randolph Scott and Errrol Flynn.

Thanks for the great link,

Here's I young man I saw a while back up in Utah.
His gear looked old and high quality, probably passed down.
The only unusual thing about him was he was bareheaded.

I truly enjoyed see those ol timers in the link.....

Some them fellers were sur nuf well mounted.

Back in my younger days, I thought there weren't nothing else like
steppin up on a snorty cowpony on a frosty morning....

This lit'l bay sure could jar ya to the gills for the first hundred yards or so.....

Then he'd settle down and do his job.

BTW, that geldin knew which end of the rope was our's

* that bay horse has been dead for several years now,
I still remember him and a few others out of the remuda.

As far as ridin the big circle....I've had all of that romance I can stand.

Fine looking horse.

I guess the dried out chunk of rawhide on top is ok too. Specially since he looks a little like me.
