Saw a red fox (before it learned to spell) sitting in the sun and scratching behind his ear.

We live in a very built up part of New Jersey.

Who else has seen unexpected wildlife.

I live in a built up suburb of Philadelphia. I'm blessed in that my house sits on a larger than average lot and I have a small wooded area in back. We have seen foxes and deer back there on a regular basis. Also red tailed hawks sitting in the branches of the trees. The foxes run for cover when they see us in the yard but the deer just look at us and keep browsing. It's a little strange to see these critters in such a built up area but I guess they are losing their habitat and are adjusting to human encroachment. Beautiful to look at but also sad in a way.

We've got a red fix living under our deck inside city limits.

If remember correctly you don't live all that far from me. In the last 8 years I've seen several foxes, one peacock....yes I said peacock, and one donkey or maybe it was a mule. Either way. ..a donkey/mule? This is 2 miles or so behind York rd on the local small roads

In our little corner of the city we have 7 bears, too many coyotes, lots of racoons, a few foxes that speeding cars haven't killed yet, big bucks and does in their rut, bobcats chasing rabbits and a cougar pops in every now and then.

We had a pack of porcupines roam through town last week. In the winter, when they form packs (50-60 animals is not un-common), they can do a lot of damage. Human fatalities are rare but they chase down moving cars, to get warm under the engines, and rub up against the tires, ruining them. The parking lot at the Piggly Wiggly was full of cars with flat tires. I seen it!

Not to many fixes up here this year, but my 5 year old was pleased when we saw a fisher hanging out in our driveway this year, most likely hunting down mice, or meece.

My wife and I used to deliver newspapers. You'd probably be surprised what wildlife we saw in subdivisions at night. Deer, coons, foxes, possums, rabbits, skunks...you name it. Deer especially. They were everywere from one to ten at a time. Right up against the houses, eating the bushes and flowers. They paid no attention to us at all. We had to beep the horn a couple of times to get them to move out of the road.
