We usually get it at least once a week, either Chinese carry-out or they have Chinese/Japanese Hibachi buffet here that we like a lot.

But they don't eat the preservative and salt packed chinese stuff that is sold here in the USA.
and are you sure it is chicken? Meow!

As Little As Possible

Chinese food served to Americans or caucasians is a far cry from what the Chinese make for themselves. Typical take-out Chinese food is laced with sugars and fats while the Chinese rely far more on vegetables.

I've had the pleasure of dining with Chinese individuals and my future daughter-in-law is also Chinese. In answer to your question: yes, we enjoy take-out style Chinese food but usually no more than once a month and never when our daughter-in-law-to-be is with us. She won't eat it, and perhaps that's why she's about a size 4.

Don't eat Chinese much, though I love it! Closest GOOD Chinese restaurant is 150 miles from me.

Well my cat does look at me funny when Me & the Wife carries a bag of it in the house, she don't even beg for leftovers!

I love a good stir-fry with plenty of crispy vegetables and a not too sweet sauce with garlic and heat. I love hot and sour soup. My area needs more diverse Asian food. We don't have any Thai, Vietnamese, or Indian.

None, after seeing the health code violations at some of the local establishments on the local media recently. Yuck!!!

Yep. I know we joke about it a lot...but I really tend to believe that occasionally some of the accepted overseas culinary practices are brought over here and incorporated when the family decides to open a restaurant in the USA and finds that to avoid paying the high cost of prime beef, chicken, and pork, they opt for something a little more "economical." In fact, I know of a couple of cases where that was proven.

Personally, I'm pretty much a steak and potatoes man, and occasionally some down-home fried chicken, mashed potatoes, cream gravy, and cat-head biscuits with honey. But, I'm afraid the cat-head biscuits are about as close as I'm willing to get to the feline-influenced cuisine.:D

A couple of times a month. Real Chinese food is too expensive to eat three times a a week. Chow mein and chop suey are not Chinese food, and I don't eat them except when my wife makes a nostalgia trip to David Fong's. Nor do I eat at Leann Chin. There is a little good Chinese food in these parts, but the crummy places far outnumber the good ones. I prefer Szechuan and Hunan style cooking.

Here is what I will typically order at my favorite place, if the party is large enough for that many dishes:

1/2 Crispy Chicken
Spicy Shrimp Salted
Bean Curd and Yellowfish Hot Pot
Oysters in Black Bean Sauce
Chilean Sea Bass in black bean sauce or meat sauce.

Most Chinese dishes (as well as a lot of other Asian dishes) are meant to be shared. It drives me nuts to go out with people who insist on ordering their own single dish as an entree, as it cramps the ordering options for the others (unless expense is no object).

I do eat Chinese noodles (like ramen) several times a week. We also have a few really good Vietnamese places, several good Thai that go far beyond the usual pad thai and curries, and a couple of Hmong markets that have some interesting stuff.

What he said. Real Chinese food is no where near what you get here. My friend's girlfriend is Chinese and makes us stuff all the time. It's good and doesn't look or taste anything like you get at the typical Chinese restaurant. The food sold here is laced with salt, sugar and fat. They live forever because they don't touch that junk.

Last time I had Chinese food from an restaurant was a decade ago. Last time I had real Chinese food was about 2 months ago.

I love Chinese Food but I love Thai Food even more. I find the Thai Restaurants are far more authentic, than most Chinese Restaurants.

At least twice a week, mostly Thai!

Me too. Learned to love it when I was stationed there.
Sometimes it's fun to ask the Thai Restaurant folks the ultimate Thai trivia question.
Where was the King of Thailand born?
