Default Absolutely positively no more gun purchases

I'm like a crackhead in recovery. I go along, "whistling in the dark" and then "it" hits me. Cunning, baffling, powerful. This time it came in the form of an email from CDNN Sports. "Weekend sale!"; I have resisted these for months, in fact almost 2 years. Wait a minute...a Colt 6920 with a "free magazine package" for $799? It can't be, I paid $1248 for the last one W/O extras. So I call the "preferred FFL" on their list (almost walking distance from the house) and he gives me the "new customer discount"-FREE (well I got to pay the $5 call in). Call back to CDNN and the total is $815+ the $5, should arrive Thursday. My safe looks like a rack in an Army barracks. I need help. Hope they don't go to $699, this bender will get ugly. Joe

A friend and I have a running joke.... Once I get this, that's all I'll need.

Doesn't matter if its a gun, scope, holster or other accessory, there's a psychology that convinces us that if we just get this last (fill in the blank) that will be it. Of couse it never is. It's a thirst that you can forever quench. That's not a bad thing.... I think.

Believe it or not, I've managed to fill the glut; sort of.

Hi, my name is Rastoff and I'm a shotgun-a-holic. I've bought and sold far more than any person should. As soon as I'd buy one, there was another that caught my eye. Well, one day I bought a Beretta DT-10. That cured me of shotgun lust. What's even more strange is that I've sold it and still don't lust after them like I used to.

The same thing happened with an Ed Brown 1911. Bought it and now I don't lust after 1911s anymore (still have this one).

This doesn't mean I'm not going to buy any more guns. It just means that for certain areas, I'm good. Now all I look for are the unusual guns. There are a lot of those out there.

No way. Another safe will bankrupt me. A local fella just this weekend had like new $3K safe (with a S&G combo lock I prefer) for $1250. 72"x42"x36" (cubic ft wise probably 2.5x my safe). Fortunately I can not move it (1200lbs) which is a condition of sale. This is absolutely the last gun for this lifetime. Strangely, my wife was no help. She said "You haven't bought a gun in a very long time, get it." Enabler. Joe

I keep saying no, but I'm weak.

I keep saying I need a pump action.

If someone hands me a Henry I'm doomed.

Default MAN! YOU GUYS OUGHT TO SEE......

Man! You guys ought to see what's on GunBroker! Gosh, if I had the money I'd push the 'buy it now' button in a New York second! I've never seen a deal like this!

Oh, pharmer don't pay any attention to this because you aren't buying any more guns.

My problem is new guns don't maintain the "new and interesting" feel like they used to.

When I first got into handguns, my first gun kept me intrigued for a long time. When I started getting into concealed carry guns, the same thing. My first few guns really interested me and I was positively enthralled by them.

Now, I get a gun and the fun, new feeling doesn't last as long.

I bought a new gun a week ago Friday.

Today I was already online looking at new ones.

Aloha,

I'm good until the Wife retires in 2018 and we Move to Texas.

That and the highly restrictive gun laws in Hawaii are all that's

stopping me from acquiring any more firearms.

Nothing I can't get easier in Texas that I HAVE to get Now.

Every time I'm confident enough to say enough, karma busts my chops. Scored a Henry Big Boy in 357mag last year, thought the circle was complete. Then Ruger came out with the LCRX with a three inch barrel and adjustable rear sight. Damn!

What a bunch of weak sisters.

I said No more! about three months ago.
Right before I bought my 13-3.

I said No more right after that.

Tomorrow morning, I'm looking at a Ruger Blackhawk 44 mag.

You just need to man-up, and admit that you know you'll cave.

I have stopped believing that I know what I need or caring whether I need or want. Old smith revolvers are just old smith revolvers. My wife rescues schnauzers, I rescue revolvers.

Obviously you are not alone in this situation. I personally am recovering from a stop at the local pawn shop last week and hope to do better moving forward. But they have a M10 with the prettiest set of presentation stocks...

It is called TEMPTATION....

You can't beat it so just sit back, relax, enjoy it as long as the money holds out!! THEN YOU WILL QUIT!!! SWMBO will insist on shelter and food above firearms!!

I got a long way to go!! If I see it and want it - I buy it....
I have firearms I haven't fired yet....is that a sickness???

It's much harder to sneak another safe into the house

This past Friday my wife wanted me to drive her one one of her Quilt hops. I said I'll go if I can stop at the local gun shops. Didn't get 40 miles from the house. I dropped $816.change for a Springfield Armory Range Officer Elite the 4 in barrel. I had just checked it out on Buds 870.00$. the last gun I need as I don't have a holster...yet. I can never get past step one.

Sure, its just guns. Then its holsters, sights, sight pushers, pin punches, dead blow hammers, more sights, scopes, and the ammo.
You have to get it while they have it...

It never ends.

The women in my life, Mother, wife and daughters, have taught me that its all about accessories, i.e., shoes, purses, jewelry, etc.

I've bought more guns since I retired than before that. Have more time to shop. It's gotten so bad I bought a Ruger last week!! ( It was s super Single Six, real early issue, all original not molested with hammer block, both RF and Mag cylinders, ((Mag never used)), and a Lawrence Gunslinger holster, that I have no use for and is listed in the For Sale forum). I didn't have any Single Action "Western Style" revolvers, and I had a half box of 22 Mag on my shelf needing to be used.

Gentlemen and Ladies, the word QUIT is a four letter word and should not be allowed on this forum. It's something shooters and gun lovers just don't do!
