Sirens, oh deep joy
So right now I'm just shutting the house down prior to going to bed. A whole slew of sirens just went up the main drag not far from me followed shortly afterwards by the police helicopter. Can't we just get along?

Meanwhile in my neck of the burbs, the wild coyotes are howling. Hmm, they are on the hunt tonight. Be safe everyone.

Look at the bright side, Steve. Think of all the police, EMT, fire, medical, legal, corrections, and probation jobs that would be lost if everyone behaved.
Heck, Smith & Wesson would be out of business in two shakes, and we wouldn't have this Forum anymore.
So to all the lovely miscreants out there, Let It Rock! (They will anyway, you know, whether I encourage 'em or not.)

When we hear sirens out here, it usually means that a tourist was driving in town going more than 25mph.

Sirens around here this time of the year mean that some idiot tried to jump the open water under the bridge on their snowmobile. Or drove their redneck pickup out on the lake when there is only 2 inches of ice.

When I hear sirens I plug the crews ears with wax and have them lash me to the mast.
Oh sorry, wrong sirens.

It's been awufl......
About the last month or so there have been wrecks, fires, break ins and a succession of sirens going on all the time. You can't drive down the road without being passed by about six emergency vehicles going full blast somewhere.

They're trying to use up their fuel allowance before the end of the year so they don't get cut back next year. (sound plausible to me )

Around here you don't hear sirens just gun shots. Why waste LE's time the fresh donuts might get stale.

We're lucky here. The sirens that sound here in Cheyenne are heard 30 miles down wind near the Nebraska line.

I live a block from the hospital & sirens don't mean much. Weekends when the Oregon Dunes are in full swing with quads & dune buggies wrecking constantly the sirens are a part of life. Even the dogs don't howl anymore.
