One of the perks of skiing in Colorado is listening to the howitzers firing and trying to spot the avalanche

Because OSHA said that wearing over the ear hearing protection wasn't good enough.

It REALLY is a suppressor for a tank mounted cannon. I've seen pics of it before. Still cool. That thing is HUGE.
I would love to have the chance to see that setup fire without the suppressor, and then with it.

I can just imagine the write up on that thing.
"Expansion volume is a critical parameter in suppressor design".
Ya think!

that is called a self propelled gun-probably a 155. once you hear one, you would know the need of a silencer.

Obama has it covered.
He signed an executive order today in an effort to make war "fair" for our enemies.
All of our tanks will only be equipped with flags that deploy and say "BANG"!
To make it more menacing, he is allowing the use of red lettering.

Does it screw onto the end of the barrel. Looks like a start of a good joke. How many soldiers does it take to screw on a silencer. Doesn't look very mobile.

Seriously? When I was a kid in Utah they used Korean War vintage 105 recoilless rifles for avalanche control, they had a decent bark to them but weren't terribly loud at the tube.

It must be hard....
It must be hard to change elevation and bearing. And how do you clean it?

IF---and it is a really BIG if----they are trying to hide their location by silencing the sound---they have defeated their attempt visually----by a hundred fold--much less manuverability.
This must have been though up by---I can't type the word lest I get banned/hate mail/dead--so you fill in the word.
Blessings

I think that is the newest model from Silencerco. You can easily see it is modular and comes apart for cleaning. They already have current production models for everything from .17 all the way to 12 gauge. 105MM isn't really that far a jump from a 20MM shotgun suppressor.
