Nothing beats looking up and seeing a fully deployed chute when you are coming in for a landing!

Anyone know why each chute has a different pattern?

So they can tell positively which ones deployed and which did not in the event of a catastrophe.

Because even in the space program they source things from the lowest bidder and that's what the rascals had on hand?
