Shooting too much? Become an instructor.
I used to shoot 200- 1,000 rounds a month through my pistol. Then I shot around 800 every month on the Trap field. Then I started teaching shooting. Now I have to schedule time for myself just to get any shooting done.
I wish I could say it was because I have so many students, but I don't have a lot. Still, 1 student or 8 still takes a day. This means I only get to shoot the demonstration shots. My shooting has dropped to less than 50 a month.
I love teaching though. Seeing the look on a new shooter's face when they hit the bull or break that first clay makes it all worth it.

Just think of all that money saved not shooting your ammo.

Yeah, but I'd rather spend the money. I'll just have to find a way to schedule some trigger time. How am I any help to my students if I don't practice myself?

Anything's possible for the right amount of money.
I'll be teaching a couple next weekend who've never shot a shotgun before. Should be fun.

Good Man Rastoff,
I hope you find instructing as rewarding as I do.

Ahh, trigger time - The bane of all instructors. The good side - My agency would actually pay to have ammo past its duty expiration date disposed of as hot trash. This seldom happened in real life, as we instructors found a home for it.
The bad side - No time to shoot all that ammo.
I did a two year TDY stint as a full time instructor to a variety of agencies, and other than to familiarize and qualify with other agencies weapons, did very little shooting of my own. Couldn't during class, and really didn't want to on my own time after spending all day on the range five days a week.
Thought about instructing part time, now that I have retired, but decided against it. I'd rather spend my time at the range enjoying what I like - Shooting.
