Look at the songs on some collections.
Google ( "Billboard Top" year ) they have collections for county hits / pop hits / rock 'n' roll hits
Also search ( "best of jukebox rock" year )
The songs on the CDs were hits. Some hits may be missing due to problems licensing the use. e.g. NO Beatle songs

Told this one before. When my son was in college, music education major, he and some of his fellow musicians were asked to play at a wedding of a girl in college with them.
She did not get along with her future MIL, who was planning a wedding that the bride did not agree with. So the bride arranged for the music, even canceling the church organist!
Per their deal with the bride they played her selection as she walked down the aisle.
Her request, stripper music!! My son said as soon as the bride got to the alter, they packed their instruments and immediately left!!!
Often have wondered how that marriage worked out, or even why it occurred?
Maybe an out of state elopement, and then living out of state would have been better?
