ELMER KEITH PIC??
Have seen this pic in several places. Anybody know where it was first published? Caption? Date? I'm pretty sure it's 1956 or later as RH gun looks to be 44mag. Thanks

When you see close ups of his hand guns you will see that the gun in his right hand there is his 4 1/1" .44 Magnum. Don't know if the 4" one in his left hand is his plain carry gun or an engraved one but it looks more plain with ivory. By his trigger finger on right hand you can see a light colored area on the frame. I think that's that little plaque with his name on it.

The background looks like here in Idaho.
Lower hills bare with sage, upper hill/mountains have trees.

Just thought I would toss in an interesting Elmer tale. He hunted around my home town often. I saw him staggering down the street one Sunday morning, looking to be walking one off. An acquaintance hunted with him once and has a photo of my friend giving Elmer a haircut in elk camp. Elmer carried a 4" 41 Magnum on this hunt. Emerging from the tent with my friend, a pair of hawks were flying overhead. My friend said," I bet you cant hit one of those". Without a hiccup, Elmer un-holstered his 41 and shot and missed. My friend smirked, and Elmer gave him a hard look, then fired 2 shots and killed both hawks flying.
