Default What's on your bucket list? Re-visited

Since many of us here are of retirement age, what do you want to do before you are pushing up daisies? Places to visit, things to do, whatever, (other than finding that Registered Magnum).
One of mine was to be on the bidder floor at the Barrett-Jackson car auctions in Scottsdale, AZ. Did that this past January.

Other things on my list include seeing Willie Nelson in concert one more time, the desert in spring when the cacti bloom, Winter Dance Party at the Surf Ballroom in Clear Lake, IA, blast some Tannerite, put a lot of fun summer miles on my MG, and overall live long enough to see my grandkids graduate from college, get married and have families. The last could be a stretch considering their ages are 4-13.

Kicking over someone else's bucket.

There is a bar in Vegas that has the world's largest collection of whiskeys. You can go there for a guided tasting of 10 distills for $125. I hope to scratch this off in June.

I want to sing The Star Spangled Banner at game seven of the World Series at Wrigley field. (Just before the Cubs win it).
Then I want to drive the Nurburgring, in a very high performance car, that I own.
Then, I want to jump out of an airplane, preferably with a parachute.
There are probably a few more I'll think of after I get some more coffee in me.

I want to own all of the mint conditioned Winchester rifles from the Old Arsenal in Solothurn, Switzerland. They have twelve or so originals from eighteen ninety four. I alsowant their MG-fourty twos--including the two that also have Lafette mounts. And finally,I want that Panzer one--that is sitting near the entrance.

I have always wanted to do an Alaskan costal brown bear hunt with a handgun. Didn't seem to have the time when I was working. Now that I am retired, I have the time, but its a lot of $$...

After watching too much American Chopper on TV, about eight years ago, I got the burning desire to build one myself. I figured if those knuckleheads could, I could, so I did, from scratch. I have ridden since I was a kid, and building a custom was always a bucket list thing.

I finally made it to an F1. Not Monaco but quite good. I would like to sail the Northwest Passage or take one of the cruises to the North Pole. Plan on visiting Scotland and Wales this time next year. On track is seeing my son become a Doctor.

Right now my No#1 would be to see my granddaughter all grown and to see what she becomes! I'd like to be around to see her get married as well!
As for doing adventurous things, I'd like to fly the Bombardier position on an old B17, my most favorite aircraft ever!

I'd like to take a flight in a fighter aircraft. The F16s here at Luke include a couple of dual seat trainers. Meadowlark Lemon from the Globetrotters , who I know, did this a few years back and told me he was sore for a week afterward but it was worth it.
I also want to die in my sleep while snuggled up with a couple of 20 year olds!

Hopefully real soon Mrs. MD and I will make our way from just west of Fort Worth up through Utah and Nevada to Alaska. Idaho, Oregon, and Montana and all those little places one thinks don't exist. We hope to make it to the END of the Alaskan highway. If I was younger we'd ride the Harley but I know my old body would fight my mind all the way. So we'll take the truck and look out the windows. Mrs. retires May 1st. I'm raring to go.

Not what I would call complete by any means & in no particular order:

Catch a 60 lb King (salmon), when I lived in WA it was a 40 pounder, moved up here & rapidly checked the box.

Shoot a 9 1/2 ft plus Brown Bear

Go tuna fishing, all I've ever done was albacore but those only whetted the appetite.

I'm sure there's more, but those will do for now

Default If all I do......

The only thing I feel like I have to do before I go out is get that son of mine graduated and into some career. A grandchild or two would be nice.

There are some places in the world I would still like to see, but not where terrorists are so that cuts out a lot. Maybe I could pick up the piano and singing again. Reload and shoot a lot and spend time outdoors on a nice day preferably in a forest. Get some acreage for my own range. Read more really important books along with the Bible. Do karate and get in better shape. Write.

I don't have a bucket list. I just want to die quietly in my sleep.
I have seen enough of the world to know that one place is just as good as the place you just left. People are all the same.

I also don't have a bucket list, but I do not want to die in my sleep. Dying is the last thing I'll ever do, so I want to experience it - just not anytime soon!

I wasn't going to post on this one, as there isn't time for mine to be long.

- visit some friends in Europe
- visit some friends in Scotland
- sort things out so that the right people get the right guns and whisky

In March of 1991, on my 38th birthday, I had my first cancer operation. I was not expected to survive, and went through the whole 'deal-making' stage, asking the man upstairs to at least let me see my sons (who were then 8 and 4) graduate high school, and to keep me around long enough that I could be a good father to them.

So here I am, more than 24 years later, alive and well. My sons are fine young men, responsible and honest and good-hearted. I got to retire from my Fire Department career, instead of being pensioned off early on an inadequate income.

I have no bucket list. While there is a lot I would like to do, if the Good Lord takes me tonight, I have no complaints, as I have already lived far longer, and done far more, than I ever expected to...

Never figured on lasting this long but now that I understand "old" I do my best to just be a good person and enjoy every day as it comes. No real bucket list just do what comes along that interests me.

I honestly don't have that much of a bucket list. I learned from my Mother who died early at 65 that you need to live a full life when you can and have no regrets. I'm 62 and have been retired on disability the past two years so some more physical activities are out for me now.
I did do as much as I could in the years prior while still working but wish I'd seen more of this country. In the last few years I've made some trips to new states mainly out west and hope to continue to do so.
Maybe getting an RV of some sort and doing some travel is my main thing on my bucket list.

Well timed as I just arrived in my Okpo Korea apartment after the company "bought" a nice restaurant to celebrate my retirement after a bit over 30 years. I fly home to the State's Sunday AM. I have not really lived/worked in the US since 2004 so top of the list is an elk hunt already planned for fall with my old partner that thought he would never do it again, this just landed a month ago. Modern medicine... Brown bear has been booked for a couple of years for next spring. Dear wife and I will attend. That said, top of the list is working over a recently acquired '73 Mach 1 (Cleveland factory 4 speed car) with my 16 year old son. He now knows engine timing, the curve, initial to full advance, etc. He has also had a couple of jolts whilst doing so. Dall sheep, Mtn goat and cape buff await. Dear wife wants to run around Cambodia, Viet Nam, Thailand and the like. All I am more than happy to do.

I don't really have a bucket list, but I do desire for a few things. I've been back to Europe a couple times, now need to go back to British Isles. Still be able to break at least 20 on the skeet field and trap range at 80. (That's only 6 years away). Still shoot over 270 on a 300 point bullseye match at 80. (That may be optimistic). Still be able to shoot under a 1/2" group at 100 yards with one of my own hand-loads at 80.

I would like to visit all seven continents, will chalk off Antartica just by cruising alongside of it next year.

5 years later re-visiting this.
In view of the current times many of us have had serious thoughts about our lives, me included. The material things and trips seem unimportant right now as we try to do what is best for our loved ones. Keep your wits about you and do whatever is best in your particular situation. There is no "one size fits all" in the fight against Covid19.

I've done pretty much everything I've wanted to do. I guess I would like to drive my Mustang through the northern tier western states and visit some Vietnam buddies I haven't seen since the 1970's. Also stop off in Idaho and see where my father attended Navy boot camp during WWII.

I've pretty much done what I've wanted to do in life. Now I'm living in a nice house in the mountains of West Virginia with my wonderful wife.
I've smoked a coupla of my "bucket list" cigars thanks to certain generous members of this forum sending them to me.
I do have one "bucket list" cigar left that I don't think I'll ever get to try. It's the Fuente Fuente OpusX Rosado Oscuro Oro PerfecXion X Cigar. The three words OpusX Rosado Oscuro are enough to make my mouth water.
