Yes! Another Mystery Airplane
You know the drill-
What is it?
Who built it?
Who flew it in combat?

Avia s-199
Built by the Czechs. Combination of ME109 with a Jumo 211 replacing the Daimler Benz DB605 when they ran out.
Flown by the czechs and later the Israelis

That prop....
It looks like a propeller with an airplane tacked on. In line engine. What appears from this angle to be elliptical wings and a cabin that looks like a Focke Wolf something or other.
That was some quick id by dswancutt. Seven minutes.

I find it odd that the Jumo engine should make what was basically a Me-109G handle so badly. I notice that the Jumo is listed as being a bit lighter, so maybe the C of G change was more than the aerodynamics of the design could cope with.

I'm pulling this from memory, but since the Jumo 211 was basically a bomber engine, it delivered it power and torque differently, or something to that nature. The s-199 tended to be really sluggish on the controls, hence the the name mule.

Well, I didn't know who made it or flew it, but I knew what it basically came from as far as the plane and the engine. That prop just doesn't look right on the 109.
