Any of you buy used media from Amazon?
Been looking on Amazon at some used CD's, video games, etc.
Lots of out of print stuff can be found pretty reasonable, but they are from 3rd party venders.
Most seem to be rated 95-99%.
Anyway, any of you have any experiance ordering used from Amazon?

I have a massive collection of DVD's mostly used from Amazon. I have also bought 100 or more books and several music CDs that were used. I am very pleased. However, on some of the new DVD series, I often find better prices on Half.com.ebay. The price savings can often be very significant and well worth getting a good, very good, or like new DVD or CD rather than the new one. I never buy any thing rated adequate.

Used media
I have, numerous times with books and manuals and never had a bad deal. Seems that I always got better than advertised.

Same for me. Movies and books are all I've bought but they were all better than advertised.
I bought a copy of "Hell I was there" once that was advertised as "Someone he camped and hunted with has written in it."
Turned out to be autographed by Bill Jordan of "No Second Place Winner" and Model 19 fame.
That was a pleasant surprise.

I check for used everything on Amazon. Even regular items can come used and I look for like new or excellent with on damaged boxes. Get deals that way. I have never had a problem with any used media from them. Had one movie that was supposed to have two but only came with one. I contacted the seller and they refunded my money and left us keep the movie . Just look at their feed back as Amazon will stand behind you one those sales or at least did for us.
I don't have a problem buying used and recommend it to family and friends.
We also buy from the Amazonsmile program where they make a small donation to a charity of our choose which we picked second amendment foundation.

I've bought a fair number of second hand books from Amazon's sellers and with one exception I've been very pleased. I received on a book that was so filthy that I trashed it. The sell did credit my account the ASAP.
All in all I'm pleased with that service

I think Amazon has slipped a little bit, but not so much as to even begin to compare it to EBay
I have ordered buckets of stuff through the Big A with only two issues in my entire history of doing business with them.
Don't buy 26650 batteries via Amazon if you intend to use them in a vape mod.
you will find the Efest cell, which replaced one that worked with one that may as well be a AA NiCad in a 26650 cylinder, and you will find MNKE cells, if the vender isn't too stoned to actually ship them.
That one turned out ok since I was easily able to cancel the order and get a refund.
That really harshed the vendors mellow when he figured that one out.
these account for all of 1% of all business conducted

When I saw the title of this post, my first thought was "Used brass cleaning media (think corncob)? Who would buy that?" I gotta get out of the reloading room more often.

I have purchased about three or four hundred used books off of Amazon.... and about thirty or forty DVD's. Only had one or two that did not match up to the seller's descriptions. For what I want, I go for somebody with a 97% rating or better, with over a 1k of sales... then choose the cheapest price, including shipping.

I've bought a few old NIB computer games on occasion from Amazon, and they worked out.
I usually use them to find older NIB movies for my parents around the holidays, or NIB cd's to build my music collection when the local shops don't have them in stock.
I've never had a problem with any new in box items, and for a few $ extra its worth getting the new items, and not having to worry about the used items not working out..

I have bought used and out of print books that way as well as computer games for my son. I've had only one bad experience with a seller who never shipped the product and wouldn't answer emails. Amazon quickly refunded my money on that one. All other experiences have been 100% positive. I've even bought things that were shipped from Hong Kong, Israel, and India on Amazon without issue.
One funny story . . . I recently was thinking about a former neighbor who wrote for the local newspaper. He had written a couple of books years ago, and I decided it would be fun to see if I could get ahold of one. Searched Amazon, and sure enough one of them was available. I ordered it, and was amazed when it arrived in my mailbox two days later. Turns out the seller was a local used book shop. The owner included a note asking me to visit the shop that has been in business for over thirty years.

I have bought and rented all of my college text books and tools used off of Amazon. I have yet to receive anything that wasn't accurately described.

Once I got a Prime membership with my Fire TV I don't pay for books at all, and I don't pay for any movies I watch. Just have to stick with the Prime marked ones. In addition anything you do order will be shipped free with 2 day shipping. I've already saved more than the membership fee ($99 p/year).

Through Amazon I bought several DVD sets which were all episodes of several TV series. I was very dissatisfied as they were from an Asian supplier and had several disks which would not play, were blank or were duplicates of other disks in the set. The company was not nice to deal with as they insisted everything was fine when they shipped and I caused the problems. Fortunately I had used my credit card to pay for them and I was able to get a refund through my CC company. Not a pleasant experience.
